AI can help write an entire application.
But choosing a name for that application?
That’s still three days of checking domains and slowly losing your mind.
My toxic trait is opening a new browser tab to solve a problem and immediately forgetting what the problem was.
We now have AI tools to find AI tools that help us choose which AI tools to use.
We’ve lost the plot.
For designers building apps with Claude Code
What’s harder to learn?
Writing better prompts or understanding the code well enough to know when the answer is wrong?
The most dangerous sentence in AI coding might be:
“While you’re here, can you also…”
That’s how a 10-minute task becomes an entire afternoon.
As a designer, I can give Claude Code a screen and explain exactly how it should look.
The interesting part starts when I have to explain how it should behave.
A prompt worth trying with Claude Code:
“Don’t write code yet. Explain which part of this SwiftUI view should own the state, and why.”
Sometimes understanding the problem first is faster than generating another solution.
