@vivalapd It's two years since George Floyd was killed and improvements to #diversity in UK tv were promised in earnest. Two years on who's delivered? First up, Charlotte Moore demanded #diversity at the very top of the beeb but it looks like she kept it all white on the night...
This is a really important thread from @HarrowerAndy, Chief Exec of @Directors_UK. We can’t allow the role of director to be eroded away and/or unrecognised.

Congratulations to all the fantastic directors at the helm of last night’s BAFTA-winning programmes. So much work goes on behind the scenes, but at the moment this is work for which directors are not consistently recognised. (1/4)

Where are all the women? Asks our new #TVGenderGap report. Thanks to all who took part in our factual TV survey which reveals women are three times less likely to get director roles than men #WhereAreTheWomen bit.ly/3mIK19X

Indeed, #wherearethewomen ? We’re here and ready to Direct, we just need the same opportunities as men. We’re 50% of the population, we should be able to tell 50% of the stories. So proud to have been a part of this survey and this fabulous group of women. #TVGenderGapReport

We're planning to issue new, fair rates guidance across Unscripted TV in October.
To do this we need to know what people are actually being paid and we've partnered with @_TheTimeProject to run this survey to find that out.

Proud to have been co-signatories of the historic Freelance Charter. It’s a big day for the industry, and we already know from the State of Play 2021 report that urgent change is needed if we’re to stop a brain drain of talent from the industry.
Today @DominicRaab highlighted importance of UK culture in #GlobalBritain strategy, and appeal of the arts.
But he didn’t admit how many TV/theatre workers and musicians/performers fall through government COVID support schemes
