This is gold. I want to gamify all my apps. Training my agents on it right now ... 🤖
Stop having your agent write features from scratch and use this, made for solo devs: 280 game mechanics, each broken into its core loop and a small prototype to build first. It's called Gameplay Atlas, and it's free. Farming, for example, splits into planting and watering, growth timers, and picking the next crop. Every mechanic also lists what the player weighs up and which games do it well. I wish I'd had it before Bolt Pit. It averaged 2 minutes 17 seconds of playtime on CrazyGames, and almost nobody came back the next day. The game worked, but the loop ran out fast. Next time I'm handing Claude Code a list like this before the first milestone. Made by @onefifthblue. Link in the first reply. Which mechanic would you prototype first?

one of the smallest automations i made changed my whole day. I used to wake up and open my inbox. problems first. so much wasted energy in the best hours of the day. now my main @bot sends me only the good news. new users, sales, approvals, nice messages. real numbers, toward my big goal. problems wait until the afternoon. then it asks me one thing: what's today's win? I shared it in the new automations section on @zerocrewai, next to the other loops i run every day. copy any of them into your agents

I think people underestimate their ability to start a profitable business. it's so much easier than 10 years ago. even 6 months ago. and it's only accelerating.
Hey @grok, if AI replaces millions of jobs over the next 5 years, how will people pay their rent, mortgages, and groceries?

You should worry if you build products and never ask where the customer is going. They don’t want your plane. They want to get from A to B, cheaper and in better conditions. Someone who sees the trip will take your passengers.

I'd add one more archetype: not only solo founders, but founders with a crew of agents and zero employees :)
New essay: andrewchen.substack.com/p/ne… NEW FOUNDER ARCHETYPES IN THE AI AGE Solo founders - Why: Solo founders can do 100x with AI, so they can ship a v1 when previously they couldn’t have before - Why not: Maybe a team of cofounders still makes more progress. Maybe you can agentically code but someone still needs to do a million meetings with customers. Maybe coding was never the main bottleneck for startups in the first place? Non-technical founders - Why: There’s elite talent that comes from areas like finance, consulting, who can’t code but are passionate about business. There’s also folks in creative industries who create all day but just not in code. Now they can build - Why not: Why not: Maybe AI makes it easier to build a prototype, but there’s still a big gap between a demo and a reliable product that can scale. If everyone can build the first version, maybe technical judgment becomes more important in deciding what to build, what’s actually possible, and how to stay ahead as the product gets more complex. (especially true for product categories like dev tools/etc) Domain experts - Why: A doctor who works at a hospital understands all the problems they face each day. A real estate broker really gets the subtleties of their markets, their clients. Same with a soldier, teacher, etc. What if they could use software to solve their own problems and build business along the way? - Why not: Hoteliers didn’t create Airbnb and the finance industry didn’t create Kalshi. Sometimes you just need an outsider’s view in order to reinvent an industry, versus building incremental improvements Kids, high schoolers, college students - Why: Young people have already been building products early on. Start with a Minecraft mod, a Roblox game, a Discord bot, and suddenly you’ve learned how to make something that thousands of other people use. Now add AI, and a kid with an idea can build way more, way earlier - Why not: Building something your friends love is very different from building a company. You still have to hire, raise money, manage people, and figure out how to make money. And maybe young founders have an advantage in consumer products because they understand their peers, but much less of one when it comes to enterprise software, healthcare, or other industries where experience and relationships really matter. Sometimes you just need domain expertise Content creators - Why: They’re already creating. So instead of creating videos, maybe the same skills can go into creating software. Plus, they have distribution. They know what their followers care about, how to get their attention, and how to reach them without paying for ads. In the past, turning that audience into a software product meant finding a technical cofounder or hiring a team. Now a creator could build and launch something themselves, and immediately put it in front of millions of potential users. - Why not: Having followers helps with a spike of distribution, but building a sustainable growth engine is something else. The most valuable products aren’t memes - they are long-running, long-growing products that need to be endlessly tweaked and iterated on. Does the DNA work?

I love the frame. my hypothesis is the fortune 500 will get there late. the latency inside big companies is huge. ai native companies start self-driving on day one. who moves faster, the incumbents or the ones born this way?

Big companies are learning to run with fewer employees. Somewhere in this round of buyouts, a few future founders just got their first check.

BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg. Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible. This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.

Profit tells you about the past, maybe the present. Not the future. The metric I’d watch: how much of the world’s work moved from people to models this year, and how much is still left to move. To me, that’s the only one that matters.

I had to double check this number before saying anything. confirmed, omg! depending on the version of the paper, 84 to 88% of vc-backed founders get zero at exit. ZERO!! and the top 1 to 2% take about 80% of the value. worth knowing the real odds before you pick the path.
whispers: oh good, I’m not alone

my timeline lately: coding is dead. apps are dead. seo is dead. startups are dead. and yet everyone is building more than ever. and everyone is more tired than ever.

When Taleb says wake up, wake up. AI will hollow out white-collar jobs. It also lets one person build what used to take a whole company. If you've been waiting for a sign to start that business, this is it.
Wake up. Every profession deemed white-collar, the middle class dream, is about to be decimated by AI, at a much faster pace than anticipated, with monstrous social consequences.

1Password is the only app i've used for 10+ years :) and happily pay for it. now my agents use it too. they sign in, but they never see the passwords. with all the hacks happening right now, security is the first thing a one-person company has to get right.
Today we announce 1Password for Agents platform, building with companies @Muse, SpaceX Super Intelligence Grok @Bot, @AnthropicAI’s @Claudeai, @OpenAI, @TownAI, @Browserbase, @Browser_use, @heydana_ai, Instinct, @usekernel, @Perplexity_ai, @tryramp, @Tomo, and @wajo_ai, with more integrations on the way. 🎉 We've heard from so many of our customers who want to use these new personal AI agents to help them get more done, but want more control over what the agent can access with the same trust and ease of use they get when using 1Password directly. 1Password for Agents gives your agents access without giving up your passwords. When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it requests a credential from your vault. If you approve the request, 1Password directly auto-fills the credential in the destination site so the agent can’t see or take possession of the credentials. The agent gets the task done, but it doesn’t get your passwords.. You stay in control. 1Password for Agents free and optional for personal and family accounts. Unless you opt-in to an agent connector, agents cannot touch your vault. ➡️Learn more: bit.ly/487da6J

This is really cool.
Incorporate your company directly in your AI agent or terminal. Atlas is now available in Stripe’s MCP and CLI.

I run my companies with zero employees, on a model borrowed from Picasso. Founders should think like artists now. When agents do the work, what’s left is what artists always had: creating and exploring. So my mornings are for life: gym, breakfast with my family, coffee shops, friends. 15 Grok agents report to my chief of staff. I get one message from her, and it’s only progress toward the goal. Problems wait. At noon every bot can reach me. Claude takes the heavy lifting and code, Codex the design. And I create until night. A prototype, a feature, a launch. Something new every day. Agents do the have-to. I keep the want-to.
