#Isaiah28:29 "This also comes from the Lord of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom." Wonderful (פָּלָא pala) - to be surpassing or extraordinary. Excellent (גָּדַל gadal) - to grow up, become great. All members of the Divine Council should stand astonished at the surpassing wisdom of Yahweh. Who would dare propose that Yahweh take on human flesh? Who would dare propose that Yahweh stoop in such humility? Who would dare propose that Yahweh endure suffering? Who would dare propose that Yahweh taste death? Who would dare propose that Yahweh rise from the dead? Who would dare propose that Yahweh love His earthly family with such abandon? #1Corinthians1:24 "Christ [is] the power of God, and the wisdom of God!" #Colossians1:27 "How great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory!" #1Corinthians2:8 "Which none of the princes of this world [the corrupt, rebel elohim] knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."

#Hebrews5:7 calls Jesus’ reverence (εὐλάβεια): deep respect for God expressed in willing submission, even through tears. Some practical applications: At home: 🏡 in a disagreement, pray for help to honor God rather than win. Listen and own your wrong. At work: 👔 admit a mistake and help correct it rather than hide it. Reverence isn’t pretending obedience is easy. It’s trusting God enough to obey when it’s hard.

“who in the days of his flesh offered up both prayers and supplications, with loud crying and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard as a result of his reverence.” #Hebrews5:7 Jesus was heard not because of the loudness of His cries and tears, but because of His reverent submission, expressed in such intense prayers and supplications. That is exactly the kind of obedience to the will of God that the rebellious elohim of #Genesis6:1-4 lacked altogether, as did the elohim set over the nations in #Deuteronomy32:8-9 who became corrupt and fell under judgment in #Psalm82:1-8. Jesus showed He was ready to be faithful and obedient to God, even to the point of death on a cross #Philippians2:8. Complete and perfect unity with the Father! I could never do this on my own! Thank You, Jesus, for doing it in my place so that I could be forgiven! ❤️👑 Wow! ‼️

“Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” #Hebrews4:16 An allusion to the ANE context can be found in the Ugaritic Baal Cycle, where Athirat approaches El, bows before him, and asks that Baal be given a palace. El grants her request. This is a genuine ANE parallel to a favorable audience before a deity.

“But encourage one another ⌊day by day⌋, as long as it is called “today,” so that ⌊none of you become hardened⌋ by the deception of sin.” #Hebrews3:13 We need to hold on and encourage one another so we PRESERVE in the faith. This is exactly THE WAY God provided to keep us steadfast. RYBED - Read Your Bible Every Day! rybed.paniov.workers.dev

“Behold, I and the children God has given me” #Hebrews2:13 The rebellious sons of God in #Genesis6:1-4 fathered hybrid children, the giants - the Nephilim. God judged their fathers, and none of their children were left alive (they became the lowest figures of unseen realm now - demons). God fathered and gave children to His unique Son, Jesus. He glorified Him, and none of His children (the church) will be lost.

“Are they not all spirits engaged in special service, sent on assignment for the sake of those who are going to inherit salvation?” #Hebrews1:14 Angels are real, personal members of God's heavenly household. "Spirit" describes the realm they belong to, not that they're VAPOR. Paul even speaks of "heavenly bodies" distinct from earthly ones #1Corinthians15:40, so a spirit being can still have a real, visible form of a different kind than ours.

One Glory, No Rival: Why the Redeemed Will Never Fall. Within the Godhead there is no competition for glory, because God's glory is one and undivided. The Son never rebels against the Father: "I and the Father are one" #John10:30. The Son glorifies the Father, and the Father glorifies the Son #John17:1, 5. Three distinct persons, yet one Yahweh glorified as one #Deuteronomy6:4. So what guarantees we will never rebel against Christ, as Lucifer did? Union with Him. ⬇️ "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one" #John17:22. In that union, competing for glory is pointless. The only exchange left is mutual: "that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him" #2Thessalonians1:12. Our eternal security as creatures rests on communion with the triune God. (btw, it is one of the most famous topics/book of John Owen).

“But apart from your consent, I wanted to do nothing, in order that your good deed might be not as according to necessity, but according to your own free will.” #Philemon14 “Your own free will” - willingly. John Owen, A Display of Arminianism (1643), argues against libertarian free will. In his view grace doesn’t force the will. It makes the unwilling willing, which turns #Philemon14 into a picture of what God does in the heart. “it is God who works in you, both to will and to work, for His good pleasure” #Philippians2:13

#Philemon14 Free will - willingly. Lucifer stood closest to God's glory, yet "your heart was proud because of your beauty" #Ezekiel28:17. His own splendor eclipsed the Lord's, and he set his will to seek his own glory. Owen teaches that God can turn the heart's attraction back to Himself. But how? Does He override our will as His imagers (check Michael S. Heiser view on “imagers”), or does He shine "the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ" #2Corinthians4:6 so brightly that we freely choose Him above all? Edwards would say God gives a new sense of the heart: Christ's beauty becomes so sweet that the will gladly follows. Grace doesn't force the will; it makes it willing.

"Adam had no right to life because he was innocent; he must, moreover, 'do this,' and then he shall 'live.' He must not only have a negative righteousness—he was not guilty of anything; but also a positive righteousness—he must do all things." — John Owen, Communion with the Triune God Negative and Positive Righteousness…

“to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.” #Titus3:2 A QUICK PRACTICE Gentleness: Epieikēs (yielding in how you treat people) When your WIFE remembers something differently and it doesn’t really matter, let it go instead of proving you’re right. 😇 A QUICK CHECK for any tense moment: am I insisting on my rights here, and is my spirit calm or reactive? Then look to Christ, who is “gentle and humble in heart” #Matthew11:29

“looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus” #Titus2:13 Among all the created elohim of the unseen realm, Jesus is the Great Elohim. He is not a creation, but the Creator. He is not a rebel elohim seeking the fall and destruction of God’s human family, but its loving, self-sacrificing Eloheinu HaGadol and Savior!

"Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance." #Titus2:2 I'm getting older. You're getting older too. So why does Paul give specific instructions to older men? It's not that younger men are exempt from these virtues, but that older men have a DISTINCTIVE RESPONSIBILITY to display them. WISDOM AND STABILITY ARE EXPECTED WITH YEARS. Clear-headedness, dignity, and soundness in faith, love, and endurance are the marks of Christian maturity that should characterize those who have WALKED WITH CHRIST LONGER. They should show STABILITY so others can learn from them.

The eternal life was promised, But His word was manifested. NASB95 (and KJV) translates #Titus1:2–3 more closely to the Greek. “in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago, but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in the proclamation…”

#2Timothy4:10 "For Demas deserted me, because he loved the present age, and went to Thessalonica." The emphasis is on the motive (“loved the present age”), not on any special feature of the city itself. It is contrast to: vs.8 "all who have loved his appearing" vs.1 "his appearing and his kingdom"

Times of Difficulty: For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. #2Timothy3:1–5

“Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” #2Timothy2:3 Here’s another Christian’s alt-identity we can start practicing today. Just reconfigure how you think about yourself.

“when he arrived in Rome he searched for me earnestly and found me” #2Timothy1:17 Paul was not part of Onesiphorus’s “business plan.” It was participation in the Gospel.

“O Timothy, guard the DEPOSIT entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,”” #1Timothy6:20 In a world without modern banks, DEPOSIT was a common legal arrangement: you deposited something with a trusted person or banker, and they were obligated to keep it safe and return it intact.

“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.” #1Timothy6:9 That doesn’t mean you’re not investing. As Benjamin Graham explained in The Intelligent Investor, it means you know the difference between investing and speculation.
