Watch Democrat Van Jones on CNN blast the ad for Abdul El-Sayed that echos El-Sayed's words that argues that Americans have to set grocery money "aside for killing Palestinians" because of U.S. aid to Israel.
Jones: "This is an example of anti-Jewish hate, and it should be taken down immediately. And denounce, and by the way, Abdul should denounce this ad immediately."
@ScottJenningsKY adds: "It's economic incoherence wrapped up in anti-Semitism. So it's sort of par for the course. I mean, El-Sayed himself in this campaign has argued we can't have good education in this country because we fund the Iron Dome, which is completely wrong, nuts, economic incoherence. By the way, eggs, like $2.70 a carton, bananas, 40 or 50 cents a pound. It's economic incoherence. It's a lie, but it's all done in service to anti-Semitism. And at the same time, El-Sayed's campaign running ads featuring comments from Tucker Carlson. What is a Jewish Democrat in Michigan supposed to think right now? Why would El-Sayed have to answer these questions? It's a mystery."
David Kramer, a top Democratic fundraiser in Michigan, was chairman of Rep. Haley Stevens’ primary campaign against El-Sayed.
He's voting for Mike Rogers.

This cuts out the part where the Mother of the Year claimed Acton didn’t live in a tent at one point, which was provably false. Instead it’s just her saying Acton lied about Ramaswamy, with no specifics
Update: there is now a 30 second version of the Vivek Ramaswamy ad featuring Amy Acton’s estranged mother
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 30-second version removes the mother's specific claim from the longer original ad that Acton lied about living in a tent as a child, which is contradicted by court records and other evidence supporting her account of childhood abuse and homelessness.

But when 12-year-old Amy told her mom that he was raping her, instead of concluding she was married to a pedophile rapist she concluded both girls were lying.

If you followed the Trump administration's jihad against Anthropic over restrictive terms of use for Claude, then you're not going to buy its Ukraine blame-shifting to Musk -- as if Starshield terms of use are none of the administration's business ... nationalreview.com/corner/no…

Not the important point, but if Musk/SpaceX was able to execute this unilaterally and isn't labeled a supply-chain risk the way Anthropic was, Anthropic’s case against the gov could get very interesting.
The government’s central argument is that a private supplier's ability to restrict a military system can itself constitute a national security supply-chain risk.
Yet Hegseth said today that “we haven’t pulled anything back,” but “Starlink has the option to make decisions concerning its terms of service.”
If SpaceX independently imposed restrictions on a US-funded military service that disrupted Ukrainian operations, it raises some interesting legal questions about how consistently the government is applying the supply-chain risk standard it invoked against Anthropic.
Anthropic is seeking a rehearing in DC Circuit court.

Trump keeps saying the law required Sen. Roger Marshall to aggressively pursue patients’ unpaid bills and that Marshall could’ve been arrested if he didn’t.
In reality:
1) The law the White House told me Trump was talking about gives doctors wide latitude to forgive the debts of patients with financial difficulties…as even an article the White House sent me says
2) Marshall himself told CNN last week that “we wrote off hundreds of people’s bills every month” and also provided millions in annual “charity care”
3) The controversy centers on Marshall’s hundreds of lawsuits against patients, and the law never requires lawsuits. Federal authorities have made clear that the “reasonable collection effort” standard often required of providers is satisfied by sending bills and doing follow-up like letters and phone calls
4) Nothing required Marshall’s 18% annual interest rate, which a Kansas City Star review of court records found was unusually high even among the Kansas practices that did sue patients

A few readers have taken me to task for “missing the point of the film,” which is apparently that Elizabeth Holmes is unknowable and everything is ambiguous. Here’s my response: She went after Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung with everything she had. I was threatened with litigation on a daily basis for months on end. It was a ruthless cover-up of a breathtaking fraud, and she was at the controls. Just a little context for those who have forgotten or didn’t follow the original story. By the way, I loved the film. #BestPicture, IMO.
A ton of people have asked me for my thoughts about “You Can See Everything,” the new Elizabeth Holmes documentary. Here they are: nytimes.com/2026/10/17/busin… via @NYTimes
