I think it's bad that my coworkers are losing their jobs.
We need everyone, including a huge chunk of our editors, to make a good, trustworthy product in a world that is increasingly slop content.

New: Hasan Piker's MN visit is dividing Dems less than 2 weeks before Election Day.
Several prominent DFLers have condemed his visit and some have now appealed to DNC Chair Ken Martin and current DFL Chair Richard Carlbom to intervene to try to stop it

NEW: Phi Beta Kappa says Lt. Gov. Flanagan has in fact been a "member ... in good standing" since 2002.
Which means, it seems the WSJ was wrong and Flanagan was wrong about being wrong.

Additional information via the Flanagan campaign.
“I can verify that Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, having been inducted in 2002 at the University of Minnesota,” said Amber Cox, Associate Secretary and Chief Operating Officer of Phi Beta Kappa.
Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan claimed in a 2016 Minnesota House committee hearing to have been part of a college honor society she did not belong to.
@Allie_Kite matches the WSJ story: startribune.com/peggy-flanag…

Republicans never viewed House Speaker Lisa Demuth as the most conservative or MAGA option for governor. Democrats say she is more partisan warrior than her bipartisan image suggests.
A look at Demuth's ideology and governing style, w/ @RyanFaircloth: startribune.com/how-conserva…
Your dueling quotes part two:
“I think it’s in alignment to what President Trump and others were doing,” former DFL state Sen. Jeff Hayden said of Demuth negotiating for cutting adult undocumented immigrants off state-subsidized health care.

Two things can be true: Demuth helped pass legislation with wide bipartisan appeal, and has focused on fraud & affordability in her gov run more than culture war.
She also wouldn't rule out supporting a Chauvin pardon and won't say Biden won in 2020: startribune.com/how-conserva…
Amy Klobuchar and Lisa Demuth offered competing visions for Minnesota’s economy on Monday, debating how to lower costs, stop fraud, attract businesses and regulate the fast-growing artificial intelligence industry.

What does it mean to be a true supporter of abortion access?
Michele Tafoya is running U.S. Senate ads in Minnesota saying she's a "pro-choice Republican" and is taking heat from her own party on the issue. Peggy Flanagan says Tafoya is no moderate.

Meanwhile, Tafoya has her own critiques of Flanagan's record on abortion.
Court precedent and legislative action in MN in 2023 have made Minnesota one of the most permissive states in the nation, and Flanagan wants to add justices to SCOTUS.

New: A relentless boss, Klobuchar would bring her intense style to running Minnesota.
Former aides describe a detail-driven leader whose intense style has persisted even after public scrutiny. startribune.com/amy-klobucha…
More than 70% of Minnesotans think government should regulate the artificial intelligence industry, including 53% of Republicans. It's a rare point of bipartisan unity.
Oh, and, 68% are either very or somewhat concerned AI will destroy humanity:

Fascinating that the age group with the highest support for government regulating AI is 18-34:
