Touring Israel with my daughter - one of the first tours since the Oct 7 attack.
Day three: hiking a nature preserve near the Lebanon border.
We stop at an overlook. A dozen rockets launch from Israel into Lebanon.
No headlines. No breaking news. Just normal life here.

You can’t heal in the same environment that broke you. If you’re trying to grow but nothing changes, it might be time to ask: Are you surrounded by people who help or hurt you?
Earlier today - “Are you excited to watch the big game tonight?” -Cashier(assuming I’m a football fan) Me - “Yes, I can’t wait to see the DOGE commercials.”
This has been a cornerstone leadership practice at the most effective businesses I’ve served. It is only possible if there is significant trust among the team. When a leadership team stops doing this, they lose their edge. Leadership decisions should never be a vote. Debate to consensus or commitment.
If only @jaguar were as good at building cars as its creative agency is at selling bad ideas. In honoring the British heritage of their tossed-aside brand - I will sum up this move as 'pants.'
There is a business lesson to be learned here.
This is the number one leadership problem I see in business today. Trust is everything. Well said Ken!

Milton Friedman said it best:
“Keep your eye on how much the Government is spending, because that is the true tax.
There is no such thing as an unbalanced budget. You PAY FOR IT either in the form of taxes, or indirectly in the form of inflation or debt.”
Fact check: TRUE ✅
College degrees lose value faster than most high-end luxury cars, and the cost of both are similar. The advantage of a degree depreciates rapidly following the first 1-2 post-college job roles to virtually inconsequential for most workers.
🌱 A Leadership Lesson from My Garden 🌱...
Last night, as I was adding supports to my tomato plants in the garden, I had a shareable thought about leadership and team growth.
Some of my tomato breeds had grown so quickly that they were bending under their weight. Other breeds were growing slower, overshadowed by their rapidly growing neighbors and struggling to get enough light.
It struck me: as leaders, we encounter similar challenges with our team members.
🌟 Rapid Growers: These are the high performers who take on new challenges and responsibilities with zeal. But just like my tomatoes, their rapid growth can lead to pressure and burnout. They need our support to manage their workload and sustain their growth.
🌱 Slow Growers: These team members might need more time and encouragement to find their footing. Like the tomatoes that need help getting into the light, they need our support to ensure they have the resources and opportunities to thrive and produce their unique fruits.
As leaders, our role is to provide the right support to each individual's needs, ensuring every team member has the chance to flourish and produce fruit.
Let's be the support system that helps our teams grow, no matter their pace. 🌿

To drive strategy execution, leaders should instead set goals that are FAST — frequently discussed, ambitious, specific, and transparent.

I’m in a 20 yo Escalade that I bought with 135K miles for $5,500 three years ago while planning to find a good deal on better set of wheels. Still going strong 36K miles later.

No shortage of influencers in their mid-30’s posting how “fulfilling” their unmarried, childless lives are.
It’s *always* the same content.
