Patrick Wang's A. RIMBAUD poses a very simple question: is it possible that an entirely off-screen, non-verbal violist gives the best supporting performance of the year?

It was great. Cool to hear @wangontheweb discuss development, production, & the varieties of ways viewers experience his low key masterpiece, A. Rimbaud, alongside translator Mark Polizzotti & v insightful @kimchimarx. Wonderful meditations on poetry, image, translation, & more. xitter.cf/brentmichaelcox/status…

Instead of going to the New York Film Festival I am going to again see the 3 hour Rimbaud biopic with one actor and music for all the other characters, to be followed by a conversation with the director and some Rimbaud scholars. This is truly living. Will report back.
