My last Hindi album was “barsat” and I was probably in 9th or 10th class, MLTR was my first pop rock album and I departed from Hindi music altogether, Nothing I hated more than the corruption of Punjabi with Pakistani urduised Punjabi and romanticised appropriation of Urdu as Hindi music in “so called bollywood Hindi” music. That “ranjhad da yaar bulleya” and whatfawkever is not our side of Punjabi and I for one cannot stop hating bollywood for presenting a corrupted version of our language to entire world, especially when it’s concocted with language overtones from an enemy country and philosophy.
