I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Adding this to the 2030 to-buy list. Absolutely incredible engineering in Ressence watches. The Type 3 is where its at. I'm gonna need to work harder.

As always, the range of design work I get to do is pretty crazy. • Branding and art direction for an activation in Miami • Campaign artwork + refresh in cannabis space • Brand guide + design rollout for a wellness brand • The regular, endless list of monthly general design

Every time I build a new work proposal I take a step back think, goddam I've made a lot of artwork in my career so far. Someday I would love to build a continuously scrolling website with as much of my work as I can gather. Would be so cool to see it all as a digital collection.

First the brand work and now some social content for Standard Issue Cannabis. Feels great to dust off the drawing tools. #pencildrawing #illustrator #drawing

One the most extensive branding projects I've done in the past few years. From branding to website, internal docs and templates, social media art direction, motion graphics, merch, office branding, vehicle wraps, even UI for a interactive video game. peakt.com/

No one loves AI more than failed creatives with absolutely no skills or work ethic.

The opening titles to the BBC's coverage of the #WinterOlympics isn't computer or hand drawn - it's actually a stop motion animation using models and real flames #BBColympics #MilanCortina2026

I've got to get something off my chest about where I think we’re heading in 2026. I waited till the end of January to make this, as I needed to get rid of some projections that we're just off. These are broad stroke claims because I don't have specifics yet, but here's where I think we're landing: 1st - We'll see the rejection of over-AI-ing content. There's going to be a bigger need to diversify content within Meta, specifically because of the actual quality of customers you're acquiring based on AI versus non-AI creative. Someone somewhere will pull metrics showing customers acquired using AI creative yield less quality than traditional creative. That's my assumption. 2nd - Brands focused on repeat purchase rate will dominate. If you're a larger SKU, higher AOV product, you battled through this year because customers might be more broke. But you'll see aggregate lower AOV be the play with longer LTV. Brands that understand natural CAC and can spend into LTV cohorts are going to be the really big winners. The guys building into longer customer history and understanding their cohorts are finding success. 3rd - Less conversation around AI workflows. People will stop talking so much about N8N and other AI workflow tools because they're just not ready to be used at the service level or feel confident enough to charge for. People will still want to do business with people. 4th - We'll find out about giant brands run by tiny teams. I think there will be one or two really cool giant brands that we all find out are run by four or five people. And that story will become more and more common. Not multi-billion scale, but extremely well-run, lean, profitable businesses. The progression between Anthropic and OpenAI will be crazy. Anthropic sells to businesses and Fortune 500s. OpenAI is mass market and will go the ad revenue route, which could frustrate users. Anthropic dealing with giant businesses, OpenAI dealing with everyone else - the split will define how AI develops. These aren't sexy predictions, but they're what I'm seeing in the trenches right now.

Immense planning and technical precision was required for this absolutely preposterous (but real) view: I captured my friend @BlackGryph0n transiting the sun during a skydive. This might be the first photo of it's kind in existence. See a video of this moment in the reply 👇

Wait, that #AppleTV brand mark and swivel motion as seen in their new sonic logo (see left) is NOT computer-generated? Turns out the whole thing was made with real glass, using real lights and swivels, captured by humans behind real cameras. It’s such a delight to learn about this detail. Makes you see this work in a whole new light now? Props to #Apple’s agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab and to everyone who partnered with them on this. Great work. Craft matters. It always has. And always will. New Sonic Logo Behind The Scenes

Tonight’s full moon is going to be the closest, biggest, and brightest of 2025. Known as the Beaver Moon, this full moon rises just 221,818 miles (356,980 kilometers) from Earth – close enough to qualify as a supermoon. Because it’s at perigee, the point in its orbit where it comes closest to Earth, the moon looks unusually large and luminous in the sky. If you step outside just after sunset, you’ll likely notice it looks bigger than usual – and it is. The Beaver Moon gets its name from traditional North American sources, marking the season when beavers prepare for winter and trappers set their last lines before the freeze. It’s long been a symbol of seasonal change and survival. Supermoons can look up to 14% larger and nearly 30% brighter than a typical full moon, especially when low on the horizon. That’s also when the “moon illusion” kicks in, making the moon appear enormous compared to objects on the ground. It’s the third and final supermoon of 2025. And the conditions tonight – cold, crisp autumn air and early sunset – make for perfect viewing. Clouds permitting.

An M.I.T. study found that 95% of companies that had invested in A.I. tools were seeing zero return. It jibes with the emerging idea that generative A.I., “in its current incarnation, simply isn’t all it’s been cracked up to be,” @JohnCassidy writes. nyer.cm/FUZwzw8
