The fear of one dying slowly without having anything to do just to stay alive is traumatic and devastating, it's only those people that experience it knows how it's feels.
I don't think a lot of people are afraid of being dead. They fear knowing they're dying.
Personally, I don't think I fear death.
I fear a terminal illness.
Knowing the end is coming. Watching your body slowly betray you. Having dreams, plans, and years you thought you had suddenly reduced to a countdown.
Maybe it's not death that scares us.
Maybe it's knowing there's still so much life left in us when time starts running out.
