After more peace deal headlines that got shaken off by the mkt & retesting trend over last few days, brent now on the precipice of breaking out to yearly highs with little open interest relative to Q1 highs, muted call skew, and futures backwardation

Yes - economic slowdowns/recessions are usually preceded by a rising savings rate, NOT a falling one as we have seen (red bars in chart). Fiscal spending also starting to pick back up, supportive to corp profits.
Yes, everyone is concerned about AI capex.
However, an underappreciated factor in the macro dynamic is that much of the current profit growth (about 50%) is fueled by the dis-saving of households.
Our next note @prometheusmacro will be on this subject

If AI produces some type of drug discovery breakthrough in the next 2 years I think it would strongly impact perceived regulatory risk from dems getting back into power. Will be hard being full on anti-AI if it is curing cancer. Not an expert in drug discovery tho idk how likely.

Three things I don't love about the current market set up:
1) Hyperscaler credit spreads have broken above their July (Leopold Liquidation) wides (chart below).
2) Index momentum has stalled and entered a consolidation.
3) Financials/Staples ratio falling apart.
The dollar has been rounding out around 100 for almost 2 years now.
Trying to flip summer's highs into support on the weekly here after reclaiming all of its EMAs.

Anthropic is a very impressive business - a few charts after having ai run through the S-1. Not much of a single stocks guy and a thousand smarter analysts pouring over this rn than me but my surface level take is it’s a very strong business.
In terms of the future outlook, feels like the key risk here is the sustainability for frontier models to sell tokens at a high margin or whether it gets commoditized down as use case needs for the average person begin to reach an asymptote where the marginal new frontier model doesn’t change the quality of experience and output for the average task.
There will always be a need for frontier tokens by a certain subset of users but feels to me like the question is whether the average Fortune 500 company prefers a frontier token vs the commoditized one.
There’s also the dynamic around data privacy. How willing will companies be to fork over their company info into training data vs build their own model trained on open weight models.
On net, the company seems highly sustainable short term and liquidity ratios are very solid, but the outlook on demand for premium high margin tokens is the key question.
Seems pretty notable that despite all of the pivots to AI from miners, hash rate for bitcoin is quietly almost back at record highs

BREAKING: Lula wins re-election as president of Brazil, defeating Flávio Bolsonaro in the runoff.
Not to be a doomer but not sure if now is the best time to add trillions of dollars in fresh equity supply for the market to absorb
Reduced more btc & pressed oil harder, turning into one of best trades ever for me personally. Managing risk accordingly NFA

this is gold's quantum FUD but it's way worse because you can't software update gold.
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.
