For those who are unaware, Israel kills approximately 8–10 innocent people in Gaza every single day, purely for amusement.

It went beyond online ads: billboards in Times Square and Lebanon, a video at CPAC 2024, a staged protest outside a Valentino store in Atlanta, a sockpuppet network of at least 24 Wikipedia accounts, and a petition from a fake human rights group. 15/25

Huge news! For 3 years @SohanDsouza & I have investigated a covert paid ad campaign pushing anti-Muslim, anti-migrant & anti-Qatar hate speech across Europe, Lebanon & the US. Today we publish Manufacturing the “Great Replacement”: 533M recorded exposures in 30 countries. 1/25

Gioia Tauro was built to keep workers isolated, with no port community and commuters scattered across Calabria. The unions organized anyway, and tomorrow they strike in defiance of a government order. This article is on how they do this. Article: progressive.international/wi…

🚩🚩✍️✍️New, out today✍️✍️🚩🚩: For the second installment visiting and profiling the Italian ports that are participating in the International Day of Action tomorrow, I spoke to dockworkers at Gioia Tauro, Italy's biggest transshipment port. Tipped off by the Palestine solidarity movement, the union workers stalled 17 containers of steel that were headed for an Israeli ammunition plant. The workers’ struggle continues as they try to stop the war machine passing through their port.
NEW: On Friday, dockworkers at 111 ports in 22 countries and regions on five continents will stop work in a coordinated strike against war, according to the most recent information from the organizing unions. More than 25 dockworkers’ unions have now signed on, from Marseille to Mumbai, Hamburg to Montevideo, Melbourne to Oakland. Days ago the count stood at about 100 ports in 17 countries, and that figure doesn’t include the dozens of unions in other sectors that have pledged support. Their demand is simple: no weapons and no military cargo through their ports. Nearly everything the world ships passes through the docks, and without the workers who load and unload it, nothing moves. In France, the main dockers’ union says the country’s ports will be 95% shut. Italy, India, Greece and Turkey face 24-hour strikes, and Morocco and Cyprus will see stoppages of up to two hours, with rallies planned in port cities around the world. In Greece, metalworkers, ship-repair workers and young people are joining the dockers, and in the US, ILWU Local 10 is striking in Oakland and San Francisco. The unions are working from the Istanbul Declaration, signed in May, with each one deciding for itself how to take part. They are also fighting for their own jobs, against cuts from automation and for contracts, raises, shorter hours and safety. The unions point to escalating wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and the danger of a generalized war. They condemn Israel’s new crimes in Hebron, carried out with the backing of the US, NATO and the EU. Israel’s lockdown of the city is now in its sixth day, with more than 3,000 Palestinians displaced, according to the UN. Palestinian unions have endorsed Friday’s action. In Italy, the fight has spilled beyond the docks. The union USB has called for a nationwide general strike. Last night, the Italian government ordered transport workers back on the job last night. USB said it would defy the order and accept the steep penalties. The unions are calling on workers and young people everywhere to stand with the dockworkers, saying “Ports for peace and the peoples, not launching pads for war.” I’m reporting from Calabria, Italy, and I will be in Genoa tomorrow ahead of the strike to report on the ground during the mobilzation.

New reported dispatch from Gioia Tauro: Mimmo Macrì has decided what the port should be. "A dockworker wants to bring bread home and look his children in the face," he said, "thinking that on the other side of the world everyone else is doing the same. As long as the port is not an instrument of death." progressive.international/wi…

🚨 ATTENTION! People are mistranslating what I said! I NEVER said people should block far-right accounts. I said they should IGNORE THEIR POSTS! Blocking actually works against this strategy because the algorithm will understand that you didn’t see the content simply because you blocked the account. However, when a post appears in your feed and you ignore it, you don’t read it, don’t like it, don’t comment on it, or engage with it in any way , the algorithm will interpret that content as irrelevant because it was shown to you and you chose not to engage with it! THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BLOCKING CONTENT AND IGNORING IT!

Our electric mixer is broken. We have only one functioning oven. Flour prices are rising, and supplies remain uncertain. chuffed.org/project/help-us-… Yet through the determination, skill, and sheer dedication of our bakery team, The Sameer Project continues to produce over 5,000 pieces of bread every single day. That's FREE bread for more than 500 families, feeding over 2,500 Palestinians daily. Our team is doing everything possible with the little they have. But determination alone cannot buy flour, repair equipment, or keep the ovens burning. Your small donation can help keep our bakery running and bread reaching families who cannot afford to buy it, when it’s even available! Help us keep feeding Gaza. Bread represents actual survival through hunger and famine. Donate to The Sameer Project’s Food and Water Campaign. Maybe if STEM students had more humanities classes they'd realize making this tracking and killing machine was a bad idea Massive implications for fascists and their end games more like it
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

A bag of flour in Gaza skyrocketed to 160 shekels after weeks of Israeli restrictions on commercial goods entering the Strip. When trucks were finally allowed to resume deliveries, the price dropped to 80 shekels. Today, it’s 72 shekels. Support our bakery: chuffed.org/project/help-us-… But if the crossings close again, those prices could skyrocket overnight. This is how precarious life in Gaza has become. Whether families can afford bread depends on decisions entirely outside their control. Hunger is being dictated by policy, not by a lack of food. The Sameer Project needs your support to purchase flour while prices are lower, keep our bakery operating, and continue distributing FREE bread to hungry Palestinians. Help us prepare for the next closure before families are priced out of bread again. Donate to our Food and Water Campaign: chuffed.org/project/help-us-… Other ways to donate include: paypal.me/mahertali (Paypal option, please make sure to add a message saying "Food") account.venmo.com/u/Maher-Al… (Venmo option, please make sure to add a message saying "Food")
