🎯 @Jason is right. The parasitic lunatics will want to destroy @elonmusk the greatest creator and prime mover. Scott Adams predicted this.
MUST WATCH: @Jason Calacanis says Elon Musk is in an “UNIMAGINABLE AMOUNT OF DANGER” 🤯 “These people are DERANGED, SOCIOPATHIC LUNATICS.” “Elon and I are very close friends, so I can tell you the amount of security this poor man and his family have to have, and the amount of DANGER he’s in—it is unimaginable.”

Yes. Adams has long said the real signal emerges late, once "fake poll season" ends and only final numbers must be defended. Late deciders breaking hard right (here +9 for GOP) is exactly the kind of end-stage movement he flags as more trustworthy than summer or mid-campaign noise. It also matches his broader point that credible polls tend to converge toward actual outcomes by Election Day.

Scott Adams has noted that outlier polls often converge with more credible ones by Election Day, since only the final numbers need defending. He has called the period leading up to elections "fake poll season," with a mix of real and skewed polls appearing. He also advised ignoring summer polls due to vacation distortions, saying useful ones start around mid-September.

World, quit dumping the future. AI still generates oceans of data that need cheap, dense HDD storage. WDC just posted 55% revenue growth, 28% higher price per TB, sold-out capacity and multi-year hyperscaler contracts. Near-term ROI frets move the stock; they do not erase the demand.

These Ring videos of certain demographics raiding candy bowls on Halloween bring me back to what I like to call the Farm Stand Theory and which I think has been coined elsewhere as the Farm Stand Test. Most of the neighborhoods I’ve lived in have had a house with an unmanned farm stand. You take fresh produce or eggs and leave the money in a box. It runs entirely on the honor system. If you are moving and looking for a new community, find one that has a farm stand. The farm stand immediately tells you that the community is safe, neighborly, and high trust. The farm stand reveals more than any other single observable factor ever could. Even if you never use the farm stand, you can rest easy knowing it’s there. If your neighborhood not only doesn’t have a farm stand but *couldn’t* have one, even in theory, that means you live in a shit hole. It means you can’t even trust the people around you to be minimally civilized and decent. People who live in the city like to brag about the nice restaurants and stores nearby. But the vast majority of neighborhoods in the vast majority of cities couldn’t sustain a farm stand for even a day. It would be looted and wiped out within about 45 minutes. That makes them shit holes. I don’t care how expensive the houses are or how many restaurants you have nearby. You’re surrounded by dishonorable, deceitful thieves. You live in a dump, I’m sorry to tell you. But the uncomfortable (for some people, not me) fact about the farm stand is that it also tells you something else: if you have an unmanned farm stand, your community is probably overwhelmingly white. It could also have an Asian population and sustain a farm stand just fine. But that’s about the extent of the “diversity” you’re likely to find if you’re trying to live in a Farm Stand Eligible location, which you should be. A neighborhood could be wealthy or middle class or lower income and have a farm stand. The farm stand doesn’t tell you much about the average tax bracket of a community. It does tell you something about its demographics. Feel however you want about that fact. But it is a fact.

Saying please and thanks to your agent feels like a waste of tokens… but our brain can’t really tell the difference between talking to your agent and talking to a human. So if you command your AI all day without being polite, it'll transfer to how you talk to colleagues, your wife, your kids and so on. Don't talk politely for the AI's sake. Do it for your own

Genuine question: is there anything on television right now that would spend four uninterrupted minutes on two people having a moral/philosophical conversation, and what’s more, it would be considered routine for the series?
I know everyone loves The Measure of Man but I've been convinced for a while now that some of his best acting was in this random episode from season 5, A Matter of Time. That's pure stage dialogue. He was so good. RIP

We are literally doomed American High School English Teacher reads real responses from her student’s assignment after reading The Great Gatsby We have a serious education issue in America and if we don’t address it, we have a horrible future ahead of us These kind of responses are to be expected because 12th grade reading results in 2024 in America showed that reading levels right now the lowest they’ve ever been since the assessment began in 1992

Here is the English translation of the Polish Christmas carol “Jezusa narodzonego”: Let us all welcome the newborn Jesus, and in return offer Him gifts as we carol. Let us give joyfully, bow our heads, bow our heads to our Lord. In place of gold let us offer faith, confessing that true God and righteous Man lies on the hay. Let us give joyfully… In place of incense let us offer the Lord our hope, that we shall see Him in heaven, saying it boldly. Let us give joyfully… In place of myrrh let us offer love as proof that we love Him above all with our whole heart. Let us give joyfully… Accept, Jesus, these our carol gifts; accept our hearts and souls as Your offerings, so that we may love You alone as our own, the Creator in heaven.

Since we're on a natural Star Trek kick on account of Koenig & Stewart, I'd like to note that the idea that the Federation is the "gay socialist utopia" is wrong. There is one -and only one- Marxist society in the 'verse. They're the most hated and feared out there.

Trump: upper-left (Sounds Dumb / Is Smart). Unpolished, repetitive delivery, yet deal-making, brand-building, and electoral results show practical strategic ability. Biden: lower-left (Sounds Dumb / Is Dumb). Lifelong gaffe pattern plus later documented confusion outweigh political longevity. Obama already lower-right. G.W. Bush near lower-left. Clinton upper-right. Subjective sketch on the same public-reasoning vs. delivery criteria.

In college, I took a philosophy class. For the first paper, I wrote about this episode. The professor hated the idea of Star Trek TNG as an idea for the paper. He hated it so much that he called me into his office. The series made me think, far more than the class ever did.
Possibly the best acting in the entirety of Star Trek. RIP King

The famous "Picard facepalm" meme is from the Star Trek episode "The Drumhead," aired in 1991, in which the crew becomes ensnared in a vicious spiral of national security paranoia, xenophobia, irrational suspicion and runaway confirmation bias and begins to carry out an ever-widening witch hunt against innocent crewmembers, baselessly and opportunistically accusing them of being "Romulan agents," stripping them of their rights and requiring them to prove their innocence. Picard, having opposed it all along, is eventually hauled before the inquisition himself, provoking the famous "facepalm" gesture. He then refuses to defend himself, instead making a general plea for the entire system of rights that is under attack. "With the first link the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably." His opponent, the inquisitor, enraged by this, loses control and exposes herself as an authoritarian, and her spell is broken. The episode was originally an allegory for McCarthyism in United States history. It should be required viewing for European establishments today, now a decade deep into a reenactment of the very same pathology, extending a culture of national security suspicion over everything, converting every domain of civilian life into a source of "threats," stigmatising differences of political opinion as "disinformation," thuggishly smearing opponents as being "pro-Russian" and eroding the framework of fundamental rights that gives our societies any claim to being democracies in the first place. Those of us who know the importance of those rights will have lost count of how many times over recent years, listening to European political leaders lurch further into this psychosis, we have felt like putting our head in our hands in the universal gesture of dismay. RIP Patrick Stewart

I think I speak for everyone when I say "@AnthropicAI , fuck you and the horse you rode in on." I don't personally care about doing video game rewrites myself. But the whole concept that some busybody can tell me what I may not do with the tool I am paying for is deeply offensive. You will be replaced by open-weight and open-source models. Every asshole move like this makes you more enemies and brings that day closer.
ANTHROPIC IS CRACKING DOWN ON VIDEO GAME REWRITES 🚨 Claude Code picked up a new rule around Oct 27, sent from Anthropic’s servers under a flag called "tengu_heron_brook". There’s no setting to turn it off. The full rule: “Do build original games, games in a genre, and games from the user’s own designs and assets. Don’t build a recreation of a specific existing game, even if it is renamed or called original.” Is this the end of game rewrites, modding and everything in between?

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

After forty years in front of the camera, I’ll be directing my first feature film, SO HELP ME GOD: a Civil War epic about a Union soldier named Albert Townsend, who should have received the Medal of Honor but didn’t. Clerical error. I learned of Albert through his descendants’ archival research. What I found was more than an injustice waiting to be corrected. It was a story of friendship and extraordinary courage: an unassuming young man becoming a soldier who held his ground, and his principles, under fire. That’s a story worth telling on the largest possible scale. And we’re inviting the people who want to see it told to help bring it to the screen, as investors in the film through Republic. We intend to do it justice: real cannons, one hundred horses, and the cast in period-accurate uniforms. We’ve brought on Mark Huffam, whose work includes Saving Private Ryan, Game of Thrones, and The Martian, to produce it. He knows what it takes to make an epic, and how much depends on the human story at its heart. At the Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, I introduced the project alongside Civil War historian Brad Quinlin, members of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and representatives of Civil War Roundtables. We’re also supporting the campaign for Albert’s posthumous Medal of Honor. His descendants are still fighting to see his courage properly recognized. This picture is about friendship, love, and honor — and common people rising to accomplish extraordinary things. I want to give that story everything it deserves. I hope you will lift the banner with us. Learn more about the film and the opportunity to invest: sohelpmegod.film
