All the talk before the game
Was full of doom and doubt
My coach, my team have earned three points
A chance, but still

On an afternoon so dreary, I sat, I saw us, weak and weary,
Poor all over, useless, trying just to score
Yes, I watched defenders flapping, midfield faint and forwards napping
Now I hear League 1 rapping, rapping at the club's front door

The whistle blows; at last, half time today
The team looks poor, bereft and all at sea
For pies and pints we plod our weary way
The Watford world is darkness now to me.

But today we we've been clearly reduced
The squad is so flaky
So thin and so shaky
