Every year around this time, I receive mourning postcards. It is then that I first hear of the passing of friends and mentors. Yesterday, one after another, I learned of the deaths of former classmates and mentors from past part-time jobs. Though I hadn’t seen them in nearly 40 years, we had kept in touch through New Years greeting cards. I regret not making an effort to see them again when I had the chance. I wonder if I’ve reached that age now.
