“I can't stand it to think my life is going so fast and I'm not really living it.”
- Ernest Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises
Life moves faster than we realize, and it’s easy to get caught in routines that leave us feeling disconnected from the moments that matter. Staying busy doesn’t necessarily mean we’re truly living. Before we know it, days turn into years as we wait for the perfect time to start enjoying life.
A meaningful life comes from being present, taking chances, building relationships, and creating memories. We may not be able to control how quickly time passes, but we can control how fully we experience it. Don’t spend your entire life getting ready to live.
blue AIPAC beat red AIPAC.
So what?
The money printer will continue to print. This is the first lie. Money from nothing.
The actual governing body of the United States is the federal reserve. As you can see it doesn’t matter who is president. The trajectory is always the same in any fiat system that has ever been created in human history.
The right is not fiscally responsible. The left is not concerned with human rights. It’s a ritualistic dance that has zero actual meaning whatsoever in reality.

Something that freaks me out about the USA is how 'normal' it's considered for adults and even children to be on drugs. Often, massive cocktails of them, including psychoactive compounds.
It's obviously excessive and cannot be healthy.

What’s a polite way to tell someone, “I’m not discussing this with you because your entire understanding of the subject is built on so many interconnected misconceptions that correcting them would require uninstalling your current worldview and starting the tutorial from birth”?
For me, choosing to suffer means protecting the things I have deemed important in my life i.e. health, sanity and waking up to a version of myself I recognize.
The tiredness, training, blisters, and pain are embraced/chosen because behind all that is peace of mind, self respect and the simple love of being able to move freely.

When I quit drinking, and began trail running back 2018, I was delusional and arrogant enough to think that I could compete with the top guys.
So I went balls out. 40-50 mile weeks, and I’m not talking about those silly road miles that you marathoners do. Hard mountain miles, after 10 hour workdays, and two hour commutes.
20 mile long runs every weekend, with nothing but the Forest and my own thoughts to keep me company.
I started getting faster, quickly, but nowhere near as fast as the top guys.
Still, I was delusional enough to think that if I worked hard enough, I could compete with them.
I got several 50K’s and some trail marathons under my belt, and decided to step it up and sign up for the Quicksilver 100.
I trained my ass off, and got into the best shape of my life.
The race was scheduled for May 2020, and then Covid hit.
The race got canceled, but I kept running.
Then my dad died, but I kept running.
Then the mountains, I lived in, and loved so much, erupted into flames, but I kept running.
Then the girl that I thought I was going to marry left, but I kept running.
My entire world began burning all around me, but I kept running.
The delusion of being a top ultra runner slowly faded, as I injured myself repeatedly, over and over, but I kept running.
I kept running because it was the only thing I could think to do.
It took me a long time to realize that I wasn’t running to compete with the top guys.
I wasn’t running because it was going make me rich or famous.
I wasn’t running for sponsorships, or accolades.
I was running because it was hard, and painful, and that was the point.
Hard and painful, just like life.
It took me a lot of miles to realize that choosing to go out and suffer was the training I needed to endure the suffering that I didn’t choose.
The kind of suffering that hits you like a brick in the face, when you were at least expecting it.
Everyone suffers, whether we choose to or not.
The death of a loved one, or the heartbreak of a divorce or break up.
Suffering is a part of life, and we can cope with it in one of two ways.
We can train to endure it, or we can numb it with substance abuse, and self pity.
The second of those options will only lead to more suffering.
If you choose to practice suffering, it will allow you to endure the suffering that you did not choose.
I’m not sure I explained this very well, but I hope some of you guys get it.
Choosing to suffer might just be your path to peace.
It was for me.
Thanks for reading.
Two days ago I went bouldering for the first time in years.
My hands are rubbed raw and I’m weak in muscles I forgot existed.
The slow burn, ritual-like inhale/exhale, the pause on the rat race of life, and time to reflect inward.
Going to church would be much healthier.
I remember it existing in the background as well.
I’m amazed at all the people who push others to take politics as seriously as they do via a short instagram post.
It’s laughable 😂
Spotted this last weekend in Hollywood.
Seeing that Tesla Roadster demo reminded me of the OG car of the future.
Both are insanely cool.
An 82-yr-old actor reading lines is getting ripped apart by the same Latinos who are currently cheering and screaming for the Dodgers franchise, who used to own prison stocks.
Don’t worry Danny Trejo, just give it a year, they’ll all forget.
