âThe ages most represented among the dead were five to nine-year-olds.â
Nearly 70% of Gaza war dead are women and children, UN says bbc.in/4fH3RfP
Disgusting that Zionist organizations are threatening the safety of one of the most inclusive and unmitigatedly positive companies in existence for publicly opposing genocide, but I guess that's par for the course.

Since Monday, Dropout has received an unsustainable amount of physical threats to the safety of our staff and existential legal threats to the company.

Kamala Harris lost every single college town in Michigan, maybe sending in stormtroopers to beat people protesting genocide is not a good reelection strategy.
Remember how they treated Americans who protested against children being slaughtered? These people vote too.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is simply not true. She won Washtenaw county home of U of M. Ingram County home of MSU. Kalamazoo county home of Western Michigan. Marquette county home of Northern Michigan. Wayne County home of Wayne State.

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
And theyâre right.

Trump will begin operations to deport millions of undocumented immigrants when he starts his term, campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Wednesday morning.
He'll launch the "largest mass deportation operation" of undocumented immigrants on Day 1.

I would like to agree with this sentiment but I don't think it's accurate. Yes, that's what it seems to show at the national level but not at the state level. If you look at battleground states, turnout isn't down. The huge drops in pop vote are in CA/NY.
How are others feeling?
I have to admit my main reason for staying on X is news about Palestine, which I simply don't see on bsky.
But X seems poised to fully turn into a White Supremacist propaganda mill...
After watching the racism dial turn further and further on this site, I decided to try and publicly make as definitive a case as I could. We're so far past the point of no return that I'm out of excuses for myself. Been a good 15+ year run. Bye! theatlantic.com/technology/aâŠ
Thank you @EvanMPeck for giving an amazing talk at Mines yesterday.
I hope students will reflect today on how communication requires care and attention to what matters to the individual, and why this cannot be achieved without talking -- and listening -- to communities.

So Cobb County just mailed absentee ballots out today, a judge said they have until the 8th by 5 to get them in long as theyâre post marked by the 5th; but Cobb County GOP appealed & the GA Supreme Court just ruled they have to be in tomorrow by 7pm. This is voter suppression
In a stunning prediction, the @BBC seems to be projecting that Delaware will be... under water.

In our recent paper accepted at NeurIPS 2024, my student, Rachel Si Yan Teo (@rachtsy_), uncovered a link between self-attention in transformers and kernel PCA.
Specifically, Rachel demonstrates that self-attention projects its query vectors onto the principal component axes of the key matrix in feature space. As a result, she finds that the value matrix V in self-attention captures the eigenvectors of the Gram matrix of the key vectors. She then incorporates the robust PCA algorithm into self-attention to improve the model's robustness against data contamination.
I personally find this new perspective on attention fascinating, as it opens up opportunities to explore and develop transformer models through PCA and other clustering or dimensionality reduction techniques.

While as a scholar of international law I have to conclude on the available evidence that Israelâs conduct in Gaza is, as a legal matter, genocide, as a matter of morality, the perverted gratuitous murder & destruction by the IDF, killing for the hell of it, slaughtering children for a lark, has an extreme moral baseness not fully captured even by the legal language of genocide.

âThe impunity that has been granted to the state of Israel for 76 years.â
Israelâs war on the @UN is maniacal. Theyâve destroyed more than 70% of UN structures in Gaza and killed more than 200 UN workers.
Itâs long past due for member states. Invoke Article 6. #UNseatIsrael

Why no mention of Israel, which is the single country most responsible for killing journalists?

Congress has not authorized the US military to engage in the Israeli governmentâs expanding regional war, as required by the Constitution. Weâre sending a letter to @POTUS requiring a detailed account of US involvement with Israeli forces in Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, and Syria.

That is an incredible statistic that should be talked about a lot more in the US. It is why we are uniquely responsible for Israelâs actions and why we should be especially angry at how our tax dollars are being spent.
Was at an event today where an extremely famous roboticist was casually praising the Chula Vista PD's drone program (see below) and I'm not sure I've ever lost respect for someone so quickly.
