I’m tired of paying police officers to sit in their cars on Nicollet Ave while they blast the AC and scroll on their phones.
We need to be smarter with our budget.

The Platner-Collins race is pretty Kingian tbh. Phony baloney evil soul-pit machine politician with an evilish relationship history vs. dim witted, emotionally unstable guy who has undeniably done some very bad things but who the audience ultimately sympathizes with
The Fox 9 dude saw me put my helmet on at the end of the anti-bike lane event and wanted "the cyclist's perspective" 💀

Last year Hasan Piker spoke at The Oxford Union and highlighted the rise of antisemitism, fascism and the dangerous conflation between criticism of Israel and all Jewish people.
He was invited to speak again but pro-Israel groups successfully persuaded the UK Gov to ban him from entering the country.

Moturi recalls watching TV from the hospital: "I was forced to watch the police chief and the mayor throw dirt on my name and blame me for getting shot. That press conference was insane... sitting there with a bullet in my neck, shattered spine, broken ribs, collapsed lung..."

“Last March, a fog took hold in my head and never left. It settled there somewhere between the moment a DHS agent asked me, ‘Are you Mahmoud Khalil?’ and the moment I realized that I would miss the birth of my first child,” writes Khalil.
A year ago, the Trump administration unlawfully arrested Khalil at his home and detained him for 104 days. “I walk free now, only after an army of lawyers sued the administration for targeting me because of my pro-Palestine speech. But the government is relentless in targeting me,” he writes. “So when I walk, I watch my back.”
“When strangers approach me and ask, ‘Are you Mahmoud Khalil?’ — the same words in the same expectant tone the DHS agent used before the handcuffs — I do not know if they want to shake my hand or spit in my face. I do not know whether they will say, ‘Thank you for what you're doing,’ or follow me through midtown aggressively shouting, ‘Am Yisrael Chai.’ Both have happened. At first glance, I can never tell them apart.”
In a new essay, Khalil writes about grappling with these two truths: “That I walk through the city afraid and that the city, in small and persistent ways, tells me I am welcome. That I am watched and that I am seen.” Read it in full: nymag.visitlink.me/tM03B5
Media reporter emeritus David Brauer says the Star Tribune's obsession with a supposedly dysfunctional Minneapolis City Council overplays minor issues, lets the mayor off the hook, and obscures what the city has accomplished. racketmn.com/dear-strib-tire…
Centerists doing purity testing better than the leftist, almost like they're being bad faith with that critique!?
The DFL has always been a mix of centerists, liberals and socialists, and it's stupid to ignore that history because you have beef with TCDSA
Our ears are burning.
As the newest conservative redbaiting project launches, we will continue our effective organizing, alongside everyone who wants to resist the rise of fascism and build a better world. And yes, absolutely we're in favor of abolishing ICE.

ALT Humphrey Project screenshots on red background. Why it matters: The DSA wants to abolish ICE, The Twin Cities DSA chapter has grown from a small activist group into one of the most organized political forces in Minneapolis. In 2025, they organized over 1,000 door-knocking shifts and knocked on more than 50,000 doors for their endorsed candidates. The Twin Cities DSA chapter has become one of the most effective in the country

Over 37,000 people showed up to DFL caucus night this year. About half of them for the first time. I’ve said it on the record and I’ll keep saying it: the Minnesota DFL is a big tent party and that’s our strength. We don’t win by shutting people out or drawing smaller circles.
Both this piece and one I'll link below I think need to be must read pieces for a little bit more nuance on AI, not a huge fan of the technology, but I'm literally a software engineer and I cannot opt out of this little technology on principle alone if I want to keep my job
Replying to @ElenP79608464
I encourage u to read the full piece (linked below). I am all for communities fighting back against data centers in their backyards (for noise issues alone). But I do not believe many AI tools are slop, I think the tech can be fantastically useful to millions of ppl blog.andymasley.com/p/what-a…

I am vehemently against AI being used for like AI slop "artistic" purposes cause it sucks for that and is literally stealing other people's work, and the hallucinations are terrible, and the disinformation and misinformation it sometimes share are horrific
i just want to clarify something and then i will move on from this for a while lol.
i think some people are construing this tweet to mean that i am judging this lady for using the tech she’s criticizing (“you critique society and yet participate in it 🤔” lol.) that’s not what i’m getting at.
i was making an observation about the way these fights are sometimes framed by people who really don’t like ai and discourage people from using it — data center opposition doesn’t neatly track with opposition to ai usage.
most americans have misgivings about ai, but increasingly, americans are also using it. i think it’ll be similar to social media, which has high rates of adoption and distrust, and i think it’s critical to understand both realities.
