I left @bignerdranch back in January after nearly 14 years. It had been a wild and wonderful ride. I’m so sad to see it sunset. After spending some time freelancing, I’m starting to look for my next big thing. Hit me up if you’ve got ideas.

On this day in 2010 was excited to be starting what I thought was the first of many hops in my career with @bignerdranch. I never would have belived that I had hit a homerun with my first attempt and would stick around for a dozen years.

That seems too much work to be malicious. More likely it is because a font only has one of them, and the font stack has to fall back to another font for the other. Similar to why "¹²³⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸⁹⁰" don't always line up. The blame here is on Unicode, for making ☑ emoji.

Normalize telling the people that you love, that you do, in whatever way they understand it best. Normalize the understanding that you need not be family or romantically involved to love someone. Think about what your dearest friends mean to you. Show them.
