What Master Yoda meant when he said "try not; do or do not, there is no try," is that the trying IS the doing.
Trying is an act of courage. Trying is an act of defiance against our bullies & abusers. Nothing happens without trying-- which is why Trauma Brain wants us NOT to try.

It's never too late, or the wrong time, to jump back into a thing you love & that adds value to your life, but that you needed to take a break from for a minute.

Paradoxically, being kind to ourselves can actually trigger some sadness or anger-- because we're unexpectedly reminded of what we DIDN'T get, from the people from whom we needed it most once upon a time.

No, I don’t want AI to write for me. Summarize for me. Generate for me. Revise for me. Communicate for me.“Think” for me. Blur the lines for me. Make decisions for me. Influence reality for me. __________ for me. “Be” for me.
This is how we lose ourselves.
I don’t want it.

if someone shares their own eating disorder struggle with you & your impulse is to respond with “I wish I had a ‘little bit of anorexia’”or “I’m kinda jealous lol”— just don’t. for the love.

My four-year-old refers to his imagination as "my magic." Why on earth would we ever tell children they need AI?

What "they" don't get is that it can take WAY more discipline & courage for someone struggling w/ an eating disorder to actually EAT & REST than to adhere to a restrictive diet & punishing exercise plan.
No shame. Your struggle's real, even IF "they" don't get it.

The many people begging you to read books and refrain from writing with AI aren’t doing it because we enjoy being insufferable. It’s because we know these things to be deeply joy-giving & rewarding, and we dread the prospect of a future in which people no longer learn, or think.

today I wanna acknowledge how deeply thankful I am for a partner who knew from the beginning that choosing me also meant choosing 3 wild girls— and chose us anyway 😭❤️

Consider this a reminder that you don't owe anyone an explanation or apology for your body-- and no one who is going to be a realistic & reliable support on your trauma recovery journey is going to demand or expect an explanation or apology for your body.
