Before Twitter my sumo sharing outlet was wikipedia. My fingerprints are all over the content through the years there. One of my projects was going to every heya and getting a pic for their respective articles. It took about a year and half to get pics of them all using my days off etc. You still have to update pics for new heya, location and name changes, but I had let it slide too long so I used the Golden Week holiday (way too crowded to go anywhere outside Tokyo anyway) to get caught up. I was too late to try to sneak a peek at much keiko and what little snippets I saw they always ask it not be put on social media. But here are some of the pics of heya, already up on wikipedia.
Let’s start with Kokonoe (now run by corner tsuppari king Chiyotaikai) and Ōshima (now run by former longevity records breaking Kyokutenhō.) Sky Tree tower is sitting pretty behind Ōshima.
