My official #clayface review (spoilers) i thoroughly enjoyed this movie and tom rhys harries as matt hagen is the highlight of the film. you can absolutely see why james gunn and matt reeves picked him out of auditions, because through the tragedy, the body horror, the moments of silliness, the romance, you believe his portrayal of matt hagen in all of these moments. his chemistry with naomi ackie is really great as she is also a solid part of the movie. admittedly, besides those two performances there is no other standouts in the movie in the supporting cast though. the body horror and practical effects are so well done. though i wanted to turn from the screen at times (body horror is my least favorite kind of horror) i was glued to the screen because i wanted to witness some of the practical aspects in action. the first act of the movie is rushed, and i wish there was more fleshed out in terms of hagen’s backstory because it felt like the movie just wanted to get to his transformation. once the movie gets past this it does start flowing. the antagonist is weak and not because it’s not a recognizable name like the falcone or the maronis. i just wasn’t moved by the character or the performance at all so it lands as just fine. i believe there was way more potential there to develop a compelling villain. the quieter moments with matt and caitlyn are some of my favorite parts of the movie albeit less flashy. it makes the fact he goes past that point of no return later in the movie more tragic. the club scene really is all that, im really looking forward to rewatching this bit and i found the end of the movie where now caitlyn has to look out for him at all times knowing he could be anyone a fitting end for the movie. clayface playing out a scene that will never happen in reality because of his own actions was poetic. no mention of batman doesn’t bother me. while a silhouette could’ve been cool i wouldn’t have wanted anything that took away from this story being told so if it ended up not making sense, well that’s just fine with me. i really enjoyed this movie and i hope we get more villain adaptations in the future #clayface

No its 2029. hitler 2 got elected last year, jerking off is illegal, everyone’s last name is forcibly changed to America, rent is $30,000. Apple got rid of emojis that depict race theres only yellow ones, this is what everyone argues about on twitter until the next election

It’s 2029. The AI bubble has burst. Your rent is $900 for a two bedroom. You bought a new high end graphics card for $125 because there are too many hitting the market. You’re living off the massive government settlement w/ai companies, spacex, amazon, and meta for price gouging

Reminder that Tom Rhys Harries acted all of Clayface on a torn ACL. He wasn’t letting the opportunity of a lifetime slip away.

“I liked the standalone nature of it”
‘CLAYFACE’ director James Watkins on the possibility of a sequel: “I liked the standalone nature of it. I liked how it felt like it introduced a character. But I wasn’t trying to introduce the character to go, ‘OK, what next?’ I was trying to introduce the character as a full meal in itself.” (Via: variety.com/2026/film/news/c…)
