We estimate that service restoration for #AO3 will take around 2 weeks but it could be up to 4 weeks. We are hopeful that we will be able to bring the site back up in a degraded state sooner. Refer to our status page for updates: otwstatus.org/

myrows crafted the most striking fanfic, titled "the winner takes it all" I truly hope they are writing the next chapter, since they managed to join both of my hyper fiction

The fact that Americans are still wondering why outsiders are so concerned with their elections, your lunatic president might drop a nuke on us man …😭

it’s so obvious to me who only discovered fandom in the last few years, bc anyone who’s been here for over a decade will join me in saying that preserving fanworks through places like google drive (with the credit preserved, as it always is on epubs) is VITAL

"Omg because fanfic hording-" fanfic "hording" happens because people who have been in fandom for years know that site come and go, ao3 is no exception. Hundreds of fics were lost because of copyright strikes coming for sites out of nowhere. It's not hording, it's safekeeping.

I’m deeply tired of so-called “fandom experts” claiming heated rivalry (a show that only came out last year) is the reason fandom culture is “ruined” instead of admitting that the fandom toxicity we’re seeing has been happening for years, even decades, now

delete your fics, please. people already downloaded them and other people really don't care, you are not as important as you think, and if you thought that let me tell you that all you americans authors that you can suck ass, an archive is by and for everyone.

I read title. I read tags. I read summary. I make a decision and open fic or continue to scroll. I have never looked at that ever. ao3 is like a library to me. I have no concern with what others are reading/enjoying in there.

maybe we should all get together and write down a full guide to explain fandom for all of the people who didn’t look at fanworks before 2015
