“Researchers argue permanent Standard Time would be better. Yet lawmakers often push permanent DST instead…”
ALT Gizmodo What Should We Actually Do With Daylight Saving Time? Practically no one likes switching the clocks twice a year, but there's an ongoing debate in the U.S. and parts of Canada over which clock we should keep. By Ed Cara Published October 22, 2026, 6:00 am ET Reading time 16 minutes Summer is firmly in the rearview window, and the Sun is noticeably appearing later in the morning. On November 1, most of the United States and parts of Canada will change the clocks to ward off these later sunrises. Specifically, we’ll move back an hour and leave Daylight Saving Time for Standard Time, only to do the reverse come next spring. It’s a twice-yearly ritual that many people tolerate, but few enjoy. A poll last year, from the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, found that only 12% of Americans liked the current system of switching clocks twice a year, while 47% outright opposed it (40% were neutral). A different YouGov poll earlier this March found that 64% of U.S. adult…

🚨PLEASE KEEP SHARING SWEET CARLA!!!🙏🙏🙏
SHE'S BEEN AT THE SHELTER FOR 2 MONTHS😓💔
💔PLEASE HELP SWEET CARLA💔
Carla #A2291193 | 1 yr | 37 lbs
📍SOUTH LA ANIMAL SHELTER
❤️This small black shepherd mix has been overlooked for months, and she’s ready for her chance. 🙏
💔Carla was surrendered by her owners and picked up at her home by officers. She came into the shelter terrified. But with patience and help from the volunteers and playgroup, she’s come so far. She’s being as brave as she knows how to be in an overwhelming place.🥺
Carla is very aware of her people. She follows them, watches for them, and truly wants to connect. She’s improving around other dogs too. She still hides at the back of her kennel and tucks into corners, but she’s growing braver every week.🙏
The shelter isn’t where Carla will bloom. She needs a patient adopter or a foster and rescue team to help her find her footing. Please share so Carla can finally get out of here. 🙏❤️

Many of these dogs won’t make it out of this shelter alive.
The volunteers at this West LA shelter take great care of them. But when the kennels fill up, dogs get euthanized.
As governor, I’ll pass Bowie’s Law: 72 hours of public notice before any dog is put down, so a family or rescue can step in.
But you can help right now. Adopt or foster. Link below.

I will never understand, nor trust, anyone who doesn't love animals. Especially dogs.
I will never in a million years understand how anyone could treat a dog, or any other soul like this.
And I admire how Rescue Coop saves everyone they can, please consider supporting them, and search w DogDog.org and choose them, DogDog supports rescuers.
It’s $5 Friday!
This story completely broke our heart.
We were asked to help Onyx leave a situation where he was constantly abused.
Tied out on a chain 24/7, basically a punching bag for his owner.
He’s 1 year old..
If you’d like to help with Onyx’s vet bill, we thank you ♥️.

We’ve teamed up with a number of retailers who will provide us with a commission when you click over to them from our site and shop. We’ll use that money to add to the amount we donate to rescues each month.

Another protest is scheduled for this Friday October 16th at 1:00 pm at the Animal Care Center (ACC) of NYCACC’s Manhattan location (326 East 110th Street in Manhattan).
This is a follow up to the first protest that occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
This protest is a response to the NYCACC’s policies & procedures which result in the senseless killing on a daily basis of numerous healthy, adoptable dogs. NYCACC needs to stop killing healthy adoptable dogs & cats.
Let me know if you’re interested in attending.
