Breaking: The intensifying voter fraud case between Trump Admin & CA was initially assigned to a Trump appointed judge, Holcomb -- but it was just transferred to another judge: Clinton appointed Judge David Carter. Carter previously ruled in favor of CA by throwing out the case in which Feds were seeking CA voter roll.

An LA County Registrar spokesperson tells me the federal government gave their office a physical copy of the 20k names of suspected non-citizens. (In addition to the thumb drive.) List includes name, date of birth, and address. The County had to sift through & determined 7k names within LA County. The rest are statewide.

Article II requires POTUS to faithfully execute federal law, and federal election laws apply to the states.
Federal law requires states to maintain accurate voter registration lists under 52 U.S.C. § 20507.
If a state systematically fails to do so or permits ineligible voting, the federal government can investigate, prosecute violations, and seek court orders to enforce the law.
States have election authority, but they are not above federal law.

Any credible allegation of voter fraud should be taken seriously and investigated.
That being said, the action by Trump’s DOJ — charging just 28 individuals — suggests they have no evidence to back up their claims just last week of TENS or HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of illegally registered voters.
Yes, non-citizen voter registration and voting does happen in isolated instances — in California and the rest of the country alike — but it is so rare that the Trump admin is parading around town about .0001% of California voters.
If the feds were serious about this, they would have done this long ago — not in the middle of people voting, which inherently and needlessly sows distrust and doubt in our democracy.
