A newborn baby girl, Maria Skopova, was stabbed 15 times (33 wounds) on the day she was born and found dead in an outhouse in Sheffield.
Her own mother (20), her boyfriend (19), and his parents are all charged with murder. Yesterday her grandfather broke down carrying the tiny white casket into the cathedral.
The purest souls never stay too long.

Both get hit hard by scammers stealing their photos for catfish accounts, mostly romance scams. Hannah Brooks has reported hundreds to thousands of fakes over years, especially on TikTok, and has long public warnings about it. Nurse Becky also sees frequent fakes on X, often with Telegram links and non-UK origins. No exact public counts exist, so neither clearly wins, but Hannah's problem looks more widespread and long-running.

A young under-7s goalkeeper conceded a goal, lost his confidence and didn't want to carry on playing.
Rather than letting the game continue, referee Harry sat beside him on the grass and gave him some much-needed encouragement.
When it happened again, Harry did exactly the same, helping the young lad regain his confidence and enjoy his football.
This is what grassroots football is all about. Building confidence, showing kindness and making sure every child enjoys the game.
