👀 WOW! This video shows supporters of the French left reacting to news of their surprise victory over Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally in France’s parliamentary elections. Let’s work together to make sure Trump is likewise DEFEATED in November!💙

Happy to be quoted in this interesting @KansasCityStar column by @ywalker about govt funding for the arts: 'Not everyone believes the arts should be publicly funded. Nick Gillespie, editor at large of the libertarian magazine Reason, says no to the question. Gillespie describes himself as someone who loves the arts, culture and humanities, but believes there is a harm to government funding. “Few people would agree funding the arts with tax dollars is a core function of government, on a par with providing a legal system and basic infrastructure,” he said. With public funding comes division and “political strings attached, thus restricting the creative expression of the recipients,” he said. “As a fan of punk music and experimental theater that is generally disliked even by my closest friends and loved ones, I would never dream of asking the taxpayers to chip in to help cover my aesthetic interests.” He goes on to posit that relying on ticket sales, donations and patrons means that no one is forced to subsidize art or expression they dislike.' kansascity.com/opinion/opn-c…

To be honest, I’ve written about Jackson Mahomes far too many times and for all the wrong reasons. He should use this time to reflect, grow and distance himself from the spotlight he seems to crave. He must come out on the other side a better person. kansascity.com/opinion/opn-c… – at Independence, MO

Hugely disappointed to share that, despite its enormous success, Disney has refused to allow Audible to proceed with future seasons of SLAYERS: A BUFFYVERSE STORY. To my knowledge, they have provided no explanation. 1/2

In a special project from Star Opinion, a survivor of disgraced former KCKPD detective Roger Golubski is speaking out for the first time. Her story not only illustrates his alleged crimes, but also raises concerns about the FBI’s ongoing investigation. kansascity.com/opinion/opn-c…

So much to enjoy & admire in @edrabinski 's interview with @tressiemcphd on the @ezraklein show, but I loved this bit about neutrality: "Neutral, meaning we want everybody to be able to come in, and we want something in our collections for everyone." ❤️nytimes.com/2023/09/12/opini…
