Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can now build and deploy full-stack apps directly on Zite.
Your agent gets its own sandbox, writes the code itself, and deploys with a database, auth and permissions built in.
No second AI in the middle. Zero Zite credits.

Local governments have been stuck with expensive, outdated software for far too long.
At the first @zite SF Build Summit, we got a glimpse of the future.
Teams from San Francisco, Santa Clara County, Solano County, Boston, Arizona, and more came together for a day of building, in partnership with Chris Dancy from MetroIQ.
A few highlights:
- The City of Boston shared how they replaced a 25-year-old grants management system with Zite, saving an estimated $2M per year
- Santa Clara County demoed a system for tracking vote centers in the county
- Arizona's Law Enforcement Accreditation Program showed off a custom platform for managing accreditation across agencies
For years, local governments have had to choose between expensive, inflexible vendors and building custom software with engineering resources they often don't have.
That's finally changing.
Here's a look at the event:
If you ski or spend much time in the mountains, you know how important avalanche safety is.
AIARE is the nonprofit behind the national standard for avalanche education, working with 115 education providers and 1,600 trained instructors who teach ~10,000 students every year.
Behind all of that was a pretty complicated set of systems: Airtable bases, a WordPress portal with ~50 plugins, custom integrations, and separate systems for online learning.
And Sarah MacGregor manages their entire technology stack with no formal engineering training!
Using Zite, she built a new system where providers can manage courses, upload student rosters, track learning progress, and automatically check instructor qualifications, duplicate students, and AIARE’s business rules.
It took 3 days to solve problems they’d been dealing with for 5–6 years.
“For us, that means spending less time navigating technology challenges and more time advancing our mission: expanding access to avalanche education and ultimately saving lives.”

12 improvements we shipped to Zite this week:
1. Auto mode
Auto mode keeps building with fewer interruptions, automatically approving routine steps while stopping for sensitive actions.
2. See your active MCP connections
Zite now shows which 3rd party agents are connected to your workspace.
3. Manage MCP across your team
Admins can see when each agent connection was last used, which workspaces it can access, and revoke access when needed.
4. Connect integrations once per workspace
Connect Slack, Airtable and other integrations once, then use them across every app in your workspace. Secrets now work the same way, too.
5. Safer publishing
Zite now warns you before publishing if the change would affect who can access your app.
6. Better databases
Lookups can reference other lookups, formulas can display results as colored select chips, and Airtable imports now support up to 250,000 records.
7. Attio, Apollo + Typeform
Three new integrations are live. You can also request new integrations directly from the integration picker.
8. app.zite .com
The Zite dashboard and editor now live on the Zite domain.
9. Better workflow history
Workflow history now goes back 90 days instead of 7, with clearer errors and retry logic.
10. Search your whole workspace
Search now finds tables, people, roles and connections in a workspace, not just apps.
11. Builds survive interruptions
Builds interrupted by a deploy or network issue can now be resumed in one click.
12. Automatic model fallback
If Opus declines a request, Zite automatically retries with a fallback model instead of ending the build.
We have several major feature releases coming out next week in @zite, stay tuned.
SQL in Zite Database 👇
Zite Database now supports SQL. Here’s why this is a big deal:
SQL is the go-to language for querying databases. It makes it fast to calculate totals across millions of records, group data for a dashboard, or summarize for a report.
As Zite builds your app, it automatically writes SQL to make things faster.
You just describe what you want to build.
And this is real SQL. Not some proprietary offshoot (looking at you, Salesforce...).
Zite supports standard SQL syntax and works with all the data types in Zite Database, including linked records, rollups, user fields, etc.
In a lot of traditional SaaS tools, analysis means pulling all your records into a data warehouse first. With Zite, you can query the data directly from your apps, via the API, or through MCP.
And maybe most importantly: LLMs are REALLY good at writing SQL.
Now they can use it directly against the systems they build.
A bunch of improvements to Zite workspaces shipped this week:
👥 A new Users area to manage everyone across your workspace and apps
🗂️ Sections to organize workspaces by team, client, project, or however your teams work
🕓 An improved version history with screenshots, filters, and easier navigation
📦 Workspace export/import, so you can move complete projects between organizations

We also quietly shipped a brand-new zite.com yesterday
I’ll miss parts of our old brand, but it was time for some of the overly playful illustrations to go
Zite is increasingly being used for mission-critical work, and we want the brand to reflect that
Building business software has historically been complicated, slow, and clunky. Building in Zite should be fun
So while the brand is growing up a bit, we’ll keep finding ways to bring the playfulness into the product!

Since all major AI providers (xAI, Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini) are having outages this morning...
Zite build MCP also works with open-source models and harnesses 💪
We’ve shipped an important set of Zite updates to give more control over how people sign in to your apps.
Fully brand the sign-in experience with your own logo, copy, colors, emails, and custom auth domain.
Also new:
• A User field to connect records directly to people in your workspace
• Created by and Updated by fields to track who changed each record
• Log in as user, so admins can see an app exactly as a specific user sees it
• Custom Access Rules to check sign-ups and sign-ins against your CRM, roster, internal API, or another source of truth
We’re building Zite to be the best place to create secure client portals, internal dashboards, and any app where identity and permissions really matter.
The updates keep coming.

We’ve been heads down rebuilding the foundations of @zite for several months.
Two weeks ago, that new foundation went live.
It was a massive update (over 250k lines of code...), and will transform what our customers can achieve with our products.
I’ll be sharing more of what it unlocks over the next few weeks. Here’s part 1:
🏠 Workspaces 2.0
Your database, apps, forms, people, and shared building blocks now live together in one workspace. This gives Zite much more context and makes it possible to share logic across apps.
✅ See what the Agent is doing
You can now follow a live checklist as Zite works through a build.
💬 Steer the Agent mid-build
Send another message while Zite is working to clarify something or change direction. No need to wait for it to finish.
▶️ Resume builds
If you stop the Agent halfway through, you can now pick up right where you left off.
🎯 Edit with comments
Click an element in your app, describe the change you want, and Zite will make the targeted edit.
✨ Improve my app
Run a focused Review, Design, or Accessibility pass on your app automatically.
📋 Move forms between workspaces
Move forms into new workspaces and connect responses to a new or existing Zite Database table.
I’m really excited about what this new foundation unlocks. More on that very soon.
As always, let me know what you think and keep the Zite feedback coming!
