this is another reason why the rise of ai is damaging. not only does it have a negative impact on the environment, but it also makes creative spaces unsafe for real artists. everyones heart is in the right place, trying to call out ai, but at what point does it become a witch hunt where everyone wants to be the first to figure out something is ai? people are forgetting that ai is trained off of people's human-drawn art. artists are now under constant scrutiny when everyone zooms in on every inch of someones art to find a mistake. now imagine an artist makes a small error. while i agree that we should hold our faves accountable, there has got to be a point where we have to trust them when they tell us they comissioned an artist. especially because we know they are already open about using ai, why would they lie?
