Who do I think I am? I’m someone players trust enough to tell their deepest secrets to. Their friendship, relationships, what they genuinely think of other Iraqi footballers, how they feel about their managers and what’s happening behind the scenes. I’m someone their parents speak to, invite into their homes and whose home I’ve slept in. I’m someone their families trust. And do you know why? Because I’ve never treated Iraqi football as a platform to chase likes, followers or personal clout. I’ve built relationships based on trust, respect and a genuine desire to support Iraqi football. So when Montader accuses me of doing things for likes, I’m going to call out that bullshit. None of what I’ve done was for likes. In fact, I’ve spent years supporting Iraqi football and its players, unlike him who has never even wanted to represent Iraq in the first place. It’s astonishing that there are still absolute morons who feel the need to jump on Twitter and defend this clown. If I wanted to expose everything I know about these players, the things they’ve told me in confidence and the conversations I’ve had with their families, I could cause enormous damage to Iraqi football. But I never have. And I never would. Because Iraqi football will always come before clout, likes, followers or my own personal interests. That’s the difference between someone who genuinely cares about the game and someone who only cares about how they’re perceived online. That’s who I am - so sit yourself down.
