Went on a bit of a dig on the UKRailForums about The E.D Class 73/74 (and in turn 75).
It turns out they were rather weak and unreliable, which lines up with our Super E.D.
They also had issues due to shocks, perhaps reflected in the story's use of lightning. (1/3)
