Having a tweet go viral is sorta surreal. Yeah, upon further research last night, a sub 5 min mile for high school boys, although good, is not competitive. And Zuckerberg was nowhere close to being competitive at MMA, although he's in good shape.
I will file this under “things that won’t happen”. Universities are adapting to AI (more in-class exams) already. People have made this prediction for years now.
Prediction: the 4-year college degree is about to get unbundled.
A huge number of universities will disappear. The survivors will compress degrees into 2 years and finally be forced to compete on price and employment outcomes.
$200k + 4 years + no demonstrated ROI is a broken product, not an education system.
I think the people is people use AI as a crutch, because writing well has always been hard. I can put a draft through Claude, and it will find tons of factual errors and stuff. So I have to decide: do I edit this, and how much? Just having Claude rewrite it would be so much
Elites really are better than you. It’s not just connections: they are literally biologically better people , like high IQ or the sub 5 minute mile. Or Mark Zuckerberg and becoming near-pro at MMA almost instantly. Just biologically better people.
This is why AI will not obsolete math
there are seemingly endless things to prove
new results lead to follow-on research
Here's a direct link to OpenAI's PDF claiming a refutation of ETH. In particular, it's claimed that 3SAT on n variables is in about exp(n/(log n)^{1/2+o(1)}) time

Imagine going to a barber and asking for this haircut. What would you even say? Give me the Cornholio?
Prediction: The Anthropic IPO will not lead to the awaited or hoped for AI crash. It will hold its value, similar to $SPCX. There is enough liquidity and demand to support Space-X, Anthropic, and Open AI each being worth $2 trillion.
If someone with minimal to no background knowledge uses AI to produce math results, do they deserve credit? Yes and no. Intellectually , no. But they also risked capital to produce said results.
Now we're in the bloated "math essay era," similar to AI and politics. In the time it takes me to read all these essays about the "future of math," I can actually just do math.
New post: "Average Is Over: Why AI Won’t Upend the Social Order"

Popular predictions of AI collapsing the U.S. economy, being inconsequential, or engendering radical social change or reform--amount to wishful thinking, are contradictory, or are wrong.
Memo: We need a block feature that works.
If I block an account I don't want to ever see anything pertaining to it again , even when accounts quote tweet it (those tweets should also be hidden instead of the quoted tweet collapsed).
Blocking fails when everyone quotes them.
Just more cope. No one cares what he says.
Meanwhile, nasdaq 100 futures up.
The buildout is sustainable. No bubble. No crisis.

that is not the reason. math is competitive too. There are endless possible chess games, but once something is proven, it's for the record. It does not matter how it was proven. If your research program has been upended by some script kiddie with AI, too bad.
why are ppl still operating on the assumption trump cares what "we" think?
The fact this post went so viral shows how being thin, especially effortlessly, is the ultimate flex. No one care about "victim weight".
Made post in May 2026 about this, "Thinness, Status, and Coping (why it’s okay to admit that being thin is good)"

The awaited AI "crash out" will not come despite endless predictions of it. It may not make sense, but the debt and high valuations are sustainable. 3 years from now, we'll still be waiting for the crash.
