I wrote the entire Bitcoin White Paper by Satoshi Nakamoto on the wall of ₿itCoffee.

Just the last two days breaches of customer data at major providers.
While keeping supply chains as short, tight and controlled as possible can serve as partial risk mitigation - avoiding that your data enters any centralized database in the first place is crucial for operational security.
The people who pay to obtain these data do so for a very clear reason:
They expect to be able to extract a positive ROI.
And the repeated & ongoing data breaches show that it is a very profitable business for these threat actors.
If you have the opportunity, aim to procure any devices privately and ideally for cash or alternatively privacy-preserving crypto only.

@KeystoneWallet bought from BitcoinVN Shop - authorized hardware wallet dealer in 🇻🇳 since 2017 (and Keystone in specific since 2025) - are not impacted by this customer database leak.
Independently, we will share soon more about our own data retention policies on our blog - and what we do on our end to minimize any retained customer data.
With that said:
Your safest way to acquire a hardware wallet is to *never* provide your real name or real home address upon purchase.
Buy in-store and with cash (ideally with an as short supply chain involved as possible) - so that any personal and sensitive data never enters any database in the first place.
And for whom it might be useful:

On October 20, we detected unauthorized access to our official website. After verifying API activity with Shopify, we confirmed on October 23 that a third party obtained customer shipping information. You trusted us with those details, and we're sorry we didn't keep them safe.
Exposed: names, contact details, shipping addresses, and order details (items and prices).
Not exposed: payment card or bank details, recovery phrases, private keys, or wallet passwords.
We've blocked access, fixed the vulnerability, opened an investigation, and are emailing affected customers.

NEVER share your recovery phrase or private keys, and NEVER enter your recovery phrase into a device you didn't order. We will never ask for them. Don't click links in unexpected messages. Type keyst.one yourself.

Gold verliert gerade seine Limitierung, und kaum jemand redet darüber.
Marathon Fusion behauptet, Quecksilber mit Fusionsneutronen in echtes, stabiles Gold verwandelt zu haben, und damit sind wir der industriellen Goldherstellung näher, als die meisten glauben wollen.
Die Richtung ist klar: Gold hat Jahrtausende als Wertspeicher gedient, weil es begrenzt und schwer zu fördern war, und genau diese Begrenzung löst Technologie Schritt für Schritt auf.
Wertlos wird Gold dadurch nicht, es wird einfach zu dem, was es eigentlich ist, ein Industriemetall, das umso nützlicher wird, je mehr wir davon herstellen können.
Was Gold dabei verliert, ist seine monetäre Prämie, und die wandert dorthin, wo Limitierung unumstößlich ist.
Physische Limitierung lässt sich „wegforschen“, Konsens nicht, und egal wie weit der technologische Fortschritt noch geht, ein Bitcoin bleibt ein Bitcoin.
Bitcoin wird deshalb die monetäre Prämie von Gold aufsaugen, genauso wie die aller anderen Güter, die heute nur deshalb als Wertspeicher missbraucht werden, weil unser Geld so schlecht ist.

17 people, young and old, from all over the world. Buffet, popcorn, good conversations about Bitcoin. Neutral, no judgments, no hype. Even some Altcoin maxis showed up and the discussions were great.
