This is more of what we talked about on Tuesday night's Takesmen -- introducing product/content purely as a cast into a market you don't currently occupy, rather than out of your actual raison d'etre. These guys see an untapped market and rush to tap it, without ever stopping to consider if they need to, or if they're the right people to serve that market, or if they even care about it. They do this because they have no north star, no prime directive, no alignment to a specific code. The only thing they believe in is audience capture. They are golems made entirely out of engagement metrics.
