Play stupid games, win stupid prizes… Portland drags their feet trying to set a weird new NBA standard by not paying their coaches & they lose a really good one in Splitter. I think he’s going to be great in Chicago. Fascinated to see how this new ownership works in Portland

i crack up thinking abt how self-righteous people who preferred playoffs to a pick acted for a while there. “the goal should be winning” all 2 get a pretty insignificant end outcome & the guy who would’ve been a dream fit is now primed to be an AS for a conf rival. figures.

we were really fucked from day one.
Fall. Sorry for the confusion. I probably should have provided more context rather than trying to summarize an hour-long conversation I had with someone last night in a single sentence. Did Dan Lanning know after scrimmage two that the offense was going to struggle this badly? I don't think so. There were concerns about the OL, offensive consistency and some structural issues, but that's different from knowing how significant those problems might become. And context matters. It was fall camp with a new OC. Some growing pains were expected, and there was reason to believe those issues could be worked through. I don't think anyone was looking at that scrimmage and concluding the offense was headed for this kind of trouble. By the Oklahoma State loss, though, my understanding is that those concerns had become more serious. There was growing frustration with the lack of offensive identity, consistency and predictability. That's also around the time more substantial internal conversations and structural adjustments appear to have begun. That's really the distinction I was making. They recognized some problems early, but believed they could correct them. The Illinois loss wasn't necessarily when those concerns first emerged. It was more likely the point where the inability to resolve them became impossible to overlook.

the media is such a fascinating phenomenon.
In a new poll, 15% of Americans said they believe between 1 and 5% of NCAA athletes are transgender. 14% think between it's between 6 and 25%. Meanwhile, an NCAA spokesperson confirmed that the current number is "effectively" zero thebulwark.com/p/new-poll-bu…

the way in which americans will subconsciously disregard what they see with their own eyes bc the news repeatedly primes them with information (often false or misleading) that is counterintuitive to their own lived experience & yet americans may take this ‘info’ to new extremes.-

when applying this information to their everyday behavior / beliefs. which in turn further alienates themselves from the reality they have been primed to cast aside. a crazy scary world we live in. we must remain vigilant & wary.

tough loss but i think people are underestimating what this squad is still capable of.
BREAKING: Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams has a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula; Cason Wallace has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Both will undergo surgery and be sidelined for several months -- most, if not the entire season.

jaylin / mara / ihart / chet is still by far the best frontcourt assortment itl & jaylin has been primed for a larger role for a while now. stirtz / ajay / jared is also good enough to sustain shai OFF minutes… this is still likely the 1 seed in all seriousness.
