When I first interviewed Josphat Lopaga on 3 October 2025, after he scored his first goal for Kakamega Homeboyz against Sofapaka, one of the things he told me was:
“One of my biggest motivations when playing is to show people that where I come from in Baragoi, Samburu County, has other good stories to talk about aside from banditry.”
His time at Abana Beingo may not have been as fruitful as he would have hoped.
But fast forward to the 2026/27 season, and the man known by his moniker “Baragoi” is writing a very different story.
Six goals in his first four matches for Murang’a SEAL.
And this might just be one of those good stories he wanted Baragoi to be known for.
