👉👉👉Read a new Op-Ed by Ruth Furtado who spent time in both non-profit and for-profit nursing homes as a middle-aged woman with #MS. "Integral to improving resident care is improving the way staff are treated, supported and paid." #ResidentsRightsMonth
Commentary from Ruth Furtado: October is Residents' Rights Month, which honors people living in long-term care facilities. Honoring residents is not enough: In R.I., we need intervention to overhaul the system and give residents the quality care they need. trib.al/dmEzzQU

Long term care residents deserve better. That's why Rhode Island needs the #WorkforceStandardsBoard and a commitment to enforce nursing home #safestaffing
Marjorie Mann has been a CNA for 15 years & saw how for-profit care can rob residents of their safety & dignity. This #ResidentsRightsMonth we must renew the call for safe long term care - that starts with the #WorkforceStandardsBoard
Thank you, @PeterNeronha ! We are here to fight alongside you to keep residents in LTC and all RIers safe and well cared for. @RaisetheBarRI @risltcop @ProtectHealthRI

It’s hard enough for nursing home administrators to hire good staff at poverty wages.
Why do we have to keep employees’ multiple accusations and terminations a secret from them, too?

RI General Assembly candidates: have you visited your constituents residing in the nursing homes & assisted livings in your districts yet while campaigning this year?
It’s a great time to meet with residents—resident council presidents, especially—& hear their concerns!
Great new resource for legislators to support constituents in #nursinghomes, from @LTCconsumer !
