Hey, NYT, if you're telling people whether the subways are "safer" or not than they used to be, here's the data points you should use! You're welcome. 1/3
Vote "NO" on all 5 ballot props! Early voting starts today. Our Mayor + his administration have been running commercials, promoting city websites + running Link Kiosks ads to deceive the public and consolidate power. Simply put, it's a power grab intended to exclude the Public! This would limit community input and influence on decisions ranging from high rises to street sheds, bike lanes, and street redesigns. It will limit public scrutiny and oversight on city contracts (bound to increase corruption). If there was an option to vote "HELL NO" that would be more appropriate!
Even a pain can be a pleasure when volunteering to help beautify @east86th . It's a constant battle on such a busy corridor, but it's much better than it was a decade ago, for sure.
It's been pretty dry since the last batch of plants went in 10 days ago. Thanks to @East86th volunteer @AFineBlogger for dropping a few hundred gallons of water of the newbies, some by hose and some by rolling can and pail. Anything to keep the beautiful new plants happy!

Please vote NO on all five New York City Charter amendments.
The stakes could not be higher. These proposals if passed would fundamentally change how decisions are made in our city, with consequences that could last for generations.
This is a power play by the mayor to concentrate power in the executive branch, and cut out opportunities for the public, and even our community boards and city council representatives, to dissent. It is authoritarian and must be rejected.
At stake is the future of community input, accountability, and the checks and balances that protect New Yorkers from bad policies. If these amendments pass, we believe the city will lose important safeguards, community boards will be substantially weakened, and ordinary New Yorkers will have fewer meaningful opportunities to influence decisions affecting their neighborhoods and their lives.

Vote NO on all ballot proposals! Here is why for #3 Streets for the People or Big Tech & Corporate E-Bikes? @SpeakerMenin @ShaunAbreu @dylanypyen @nyccommonsense ourtownny.com/voices/streets…

Calling community input "red tape" should worry everyone.
If these proposals, drafted heavily by @openplans, @TransAlt , become law @nyc_dot could close streets, restrict access, movement — hand public space to real estate interests, with no community voice in the process.

please pay attention: @NYCCFB @NYSCOELIG and address this clear violation of election law.
There is nothing neutral or educational about this. The administration is using taxpayer funds to get people to vote yes by saying this will deliver a faster government.
It’s also a big fat lie. What they really want to do is eliminate the possibility of any dissent on any of their plans. They want to be able to give gifts to their special interests without anyone in the community objecting , just like they do in authoritarian regimes.
Every community board president, every city council representative, every community leader, district leader or elected should be objecting to this flagrant misuse of taxpayer funds.
We say : VOTE NO ON ALL FIVE.

"As long as e-bikes and e-scooters are unregistered, as long as their operators do not have proper licensing to use them, we will see the grim consequences of irresponsibility on the streets of the city."

Send help, I've been detained by Hamptons Ambassador Service. As you can tell, I'm really scared, + pouty sad. I'm encouraged that my captors say that I'll probably be released in Bridge, a few yards fr Bobby Van's where I'm looking forward to the burger. The struggle is real!
.@TransAlt lobby group is funded by @uber @lyft @VerraMobility
They want private vehicles removed from NYC streets to benefit their funders. Nothing to do with safety.
Agree 100%. This is electioneering on the Govt dime.
On Good Day today @SpeakerMenin said she supports registration of e-bikes on a State level, like New Jersey. Is this an endorsement of Priscilla's Law to register ALL e-bikes and e-scooters? Inquiring minds would love to know @nyc_evsa @rosannascotto
Does anyone else have a problem w @NYCEDC running commercials essentially advocating for yes votes on ballot proposals that will limit public input in govt?

To add insult to injury, it points to an nyc.gov website that has a Zohran TicToc video singing the virtues of the ballot measures that give more power to him, and less to us!

Here are the violent crime rates for the NYC subway as compared to 2019:
