I still feel this way with a week to go. I also feel increasingly bullish about TX and even KS-GOV from what I’m seeing/hearing. We are competitive on the outer reaches of the map. There might be some close race heartbreak but…the map is expanding, not contracting, a week out.
Replying to @ASDem
Put it to you like this: I’d bet on 54 before I bet on 49 (I think 50-53 is where we end up, which is not a hot take at all)

Good take by ya boy
My take: gotta let Porzingis go and take the (Kuminga) L. More important to get someone reliable than a ceiling raiser. Re-resign Draymond to a team friendly contract (he’ll do it), don’t extend Podz (yet), go do the 2022 vet min thing, and nail KP salary slot + draft pick.

One of the hardest things to do in politics but Jim is spot on (not just for Abdul, but in general this last week). It’s change the subject season and unless your opponent hands you a gift (looking at you Vivek), don’t let them move the discussion away from winning turf
Trump wants Democrats to take the bait. With eight days left in Michigan’s Senate race, the focus needs to stay on affordability and what voters are dealing with. I discussed that with @PeterAlexander on MS NOW this morning.

I agree with this take 100% and also if you had told someone in January 2025 (shit, maybe 2026) that the tail risk of this cycle would be Republicans losing MS-SEN, you would have been looked at like you had five heads.
Given the general uncertainty of the cycle and the specific saturation of a map that has been obvious for 18 months, throwing a few million at your tail risk is wise.

I'm touched by the gesture, I'm annoyed by the Warriors reference, and I loved the post. Not gonna tl;dr it for you - just read.
My take, in a letter to @ASDem, on how I am thinking about Florida with one week to go. On my substack: open.substack.com/pub/manoff…

She……..doubled down on it??????????
Oh boy, on the eve of Trump’s visit to Mississippi, Cindy Hyde-Smith *doubles down* on her other “proteins to choose from” comment. “Thank goodness when mothers want to feed their families when you go out shopping, there are proteins, you want to feed meat, there are some cheaper prices. And that’s what that statement was about.” #mssen

Compelling strategic argument here
Lots of people are asking me where to give their money - if you can only do one race, I’d give what you can to @MaryPeltola Several reasons: 1) It’s a small state, so your money goes further per expected senate vote 2) Direct donations buy 19x ads per dollar than committees due to the unit rule - this also frees up the DSCC and SMP to put their money on states with smaller IE/coord ad price spreads and frees them up to spend more on digital 3) it’s likely going to be close! It’s not too late! Any money you send today will get spent immediately and will provide real relief to an overworked campaign workers across a bunch of orgs! secure.actblue.com/donate/mp…

Me realizing they might move Game 7 from Halloween to Election Night
One proposal would move Game 6 to Friday, Oct. 30 and Game 7, if necessary, from Saturday, Oct. 31 to Tuesday, Nov. 3. That would mean three days between each of Games 5/6 and 6/7. The WNBA would support that proposal, but only if both teams agree to it, sources said.

Tomorrow, I’m chaperoning my son’s first kindergarten field trip. Me, a few other parents, and 24 feral 5/6 year olds. I’m irrationally excited. Parenting is so exhausting and I complain about it constantly (often with good reason), but it also rules. Thanks for writing this.

Clever stuff all around here, salute. South and especially southwest Georgia (not in this market, but nearby Columbus) is super important to Bottoms, and Jolly can’t do anything without juicing black support. Cross state DMAs ftw
Keisha Lance Bottoms and David Jolly will hold a rally together tomorrow in Tallahassee at Florida A&M University, her alma mater, per Jolly’s campaign. His campaign notes the media market reaches “voters across ten counties in Georgia and nine counties in Florida.” #GAGOV #FLGOV
