I built a family meal planning utility in chatgpt and have been using claude to build my shopping carts for the past month or so. For the first time today I've had to click through half a dozen periodic "I am human" dialog boxes amazon has thrown up when it detects agents.

It's both--they're worried she'll win the nom and then fall flat on her face. The real question is whether she believes in her abilities.
Patrick Gaspard, Obama's political director, says pushback to another Harris run is like boxers that didn't want an Ali comeback: "They were saying that not b/c they were worried Muhammad Ali would fall flat on his face—they were worried he would win.” cnn.com/2026/10/26/politics/…

One of the fascinating questions in this election is whether 1974/1994/2006 really do belong to a different era.
Think back to 2006, last midterm w/ an unpopular war/GOP president. Where were the biggest House upsets? Places like IN, IA, KS, MN (Tim Walz!), NH, OH, WI, Upstate NY. That's why I think the Midwest & places w/ lots of secular white voters are especially ripe for surprises.

Given the general uncertainty of the cycle and the specific saturation of a map that has been obvious for 18 months, throwing a few million at your tail risk is wise.
An IE report from SLF, the big Senate GOP super PAC, that reveals the state of affairs in final 10 days. Spending in: SC ($978k) NE ($960k) KS ($720k) MS ($572k)

I actually think this is directionally true with only minor exaggeration.
The number of times that this clown switches his stance 180 degree is quite impressive. One week it is "democrats can get up to 58 senate seats" and another week it is "republicans have a solid chance to hold the senate." It is clear that he has no idea what the outcome will be.

Ye olde expectations game
NEW: Senior Democrats are tempering their expectations about how big of a House majority they might win, as both parties see a tightening map. Comes after a barrage of GOP spending. w/ @meredithllee politico.com/news/2026/10/23…

Thought this was remarkable: Energy developers like Williams demand a 3-4x greater return when building in states like New York compared to states like Oklahoma due to the unpredictable/burdensome state regulatory environment. A very clear permitting x affordability story.

Mix of expectations undertow and poll denial obscures the real debate here--whether a great night for Ds in the macro sense translates into big raw gains. Best thing going for Rs is that this map can absorb a lot of surf.

The amount of money and energy that will go into retroactively ascribing an overdetermined wave to This One Issue in an effort to prime the narrative heading into 2028 is something to behold.
Prime example of what @adamkovac talks about of bandwagon groups running ads on the #10 ranked issue in the hopes of stealing credit for a victory that had nothing to do with them. Literally the playbook The Groups™️ run every cycle.

First ad I've seen so explicitly targeting the obvious financial conflicts around the Trump administration's AI accelerationism

Climate emissions don't respect state borders, and state-level lawsuits shouldn't dictate national energy policy. At a @DailyCaller panel, our Executive Director @LPDonovan explained why he sees a major opportunity for the courts to push back on climate lawfare.

Part of the problem with EV analysis is, as this suggests, the proper baseline. But the bigger problem is what it means. Few think Rs are in for a *good* night. It's "bad" vs "historically bad." Would this mean "historically bad"? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just very hard to interpret.
Anyone comparing this election to ‘24 and not ‘22 is in for a big surprise.
