Most clips recently I've only heard Carragher talking down Villa. It's the entitlement of all of these ex pros in the Fergie era that's embarrassing to listen to because they've put their own clubs on a pedestal. Imagine what we could do if Football spending was a level for all.
I personally thought that was a perfect game to start Garnacho, not sure why it didn't happen in all honesty. First 11 was slow, disconnected & poor which sets the tone for the rest of the game. Hemmings lacks any sort of confidence needed at this level unfortunately. #AVFC
Hemmings & THB clearly showing tonight they are no where near being ready yet. #AVFC
Arteta inherited a squad that was already competing for titles, Unai Emery has built this squad from relegation contenders to competing for CL most seasons. There is context, but it just doesn't suit people's agenda's to show the full picture. #AVFC
Since Unai took over on 1 November 2022, the Vila has spent €776 million on transfer fees. This covers 44 arrivals. Unai finished the season on 7th, 4th, 6th and 4th positions.
Arteta took over in December 2019 and in his first 4 seasons, he spent €680 million. He finished the season on 8th, 8th, 5th, 2nd, challenging Pep and Klopp in a title race.
What backing and time does Unai need that he's not gotten from Villa? Why isnt he competing for the league yet?
It took Arteta 2 full seasons to start competing for the league. It has taken Unai 3 full season with more spendings and yet he's nowhere near challenging for the title.
You guys should be serious for crying out loud.
A few years ago Matty Cash was questioned, we need an upgrade they said. Last season I tipped him to be player if the season - The Althletic gave him the award. He is one of the leagues best right backs now, he's improved under Unai so much. #AVFC
What's one Villa related prediction for this season?
Mine is Matty Cash is going to be fans player of the season.

The team looks so we'll balanced today. In my head I'd love a world with Mbaye Manzambi Alysson & Jackson a some stage but I think Buendia offers that attacking threat as well as happy tracking back doing the dirty work too #AVFC
Oh dear oh dear 😬 I can't stop my head from wobbling, can you? #AVFC
I am quite surprised its been left so open the way it has. I would put some black mesh around it to block a bit of wind and to make it look more enclosed. To open the way it is. #AVFC
Keith Andrews on Villa Park's three stands: "I certainly hate it as a player (when one side is missing). I don't know what it is, but if there’s a whole stand missing, it doesn't sit well with me. Naturally it doesn't generate the same atmosphere.
"You can feel the history here. I love coming here. But there is one side missing, it feels different.” #AVFC
Im not massively disappointed as I'm quite relaxed about where we are at this season. We need a ball playing CM & CB's needs to be heavily invested in though if we are to move forward. Until then, silly goals like today will always be an issue.
#AVFC
Jackson has been so good & Suzuki is on another level. I had my doubts over him when he first came but he's proving me wrong massively.
#AVFC
Joao Gomes has to stop the stupid shit man. He's constantly doing it & it's going to cost us loads this season if it keeps going. #AVFC
Garnacho is the new Elliott & Gomes went a full Wolves career practically always fit & in true fasion signs for Villa & has two injuries already. I LOVE MY CLUB 💙❤ #AVFC
Bored of these posts every year. A couple of fans on X might post about sacking the manager but there are 1000's or 99% of the fan base are fully behind Unai & realise we are in a transition. #AVFC
I'm genuinely curious to what fans expect this season? With the overhaul we are no where near top 4 & even Europe. This is a rebuild season. We'd be lucky to get top 10. The only worry is, Mbaye, Manzambi would get picked off before we get chance to go again in the summer. #AVFC
All this means is THB will be on the bench now. I hope you are all ready for Mings & Lindelof to carry us through 😂 how have we ended up here man. #AVFC
Unai Emery: “Taylor Harwood-Bellis? His time is coming after Pau’s injury.” @johntownley11 #avfc
For all the fans that gave me pelters last year for saying fans need to stop being so sentimental wanting Luiz & Tammy back & now look at all the opinions 😂 how have they worked out for you?! #AVFC
I think I'm fully aware & accept we will be nowhere near where we've been in the last 4 years under Unai. I don't think the squad is enough even when everyone is fully fit. CB needs a huge upgrade, fullbacks are OK but again, average. CM is poor, Gomes won't solve problems. #AVFC
