Ehab Jameel Lutfi Abu Taqiya, known as Omair, was a critical part of The Sameer Project from the start. He was a close friend of Mosab Ali, and now they are reunited.
Omair is now a martyr, he was killed this morning by the military occupation. He was killed right after he spent his morning setting up tents and fixing a water well with other team members to serve his people.
The Sameer Project team is devastated, our hearts are broken. But for Omair, Mosab and Ameen, we keep going.
Pray for our beloved Omair 🤲🏽

Today, the bodies of Raghad and Rahaf, granddaughters of my late uncle, Dr. Omar Firwana, were finally recovered.
They were the last of 15 family members killed in an Israeli massacre on October 15, 2023.
After three years of painful waiting, their remains have finally been recovered.

The World Stands with Cuba!
Today at the UN, 130 countries voted to lift the U.S. blockade against Cuba. Since 1992, the vast majority of the planet—except the U.S., Israel, and the states they coerce—has voted in favor of the motion, year after year, rejecting the daily impositions by the U.S. that prevent the Cuban people from meeting their basic needs.

I can hardly imagine anyone who hasn’t seen this photograph. But it was taken on this day in 2000.
I cannot believe the photo is 26 years old now.
The boy in the photograph was Fares Odeh. He was just 14 years old.
Ten days after this image was captured, Fares went out again to throw stones at Israeli tanks, seeking to avenge the killing of his 17-year-old cousin.
An Israeli sniper shot him in the neck, killing him.
And there is another chilling detail to this photograph.
The photo changed Israeli tank doctrine. In August 2001, The Jerusalem Post quoted an anonymous tank doctrinist saying tank personnel were now instructed to fire upon rock-throwers.

'The nearly 5 million Palestinians in Occupied West Bank + 2.3 million in Gaza do not vote in Israeli Elections. But the 1 million Israeli citizens living illegally in West Bank do vote in the elections'. And the EU calls this the only Democracy in the Region.? Total nonsense...
The Palestinian population in Israel is approx. 25%, at 2.5 million. They are classified as Arabs, not Palestinians, in order to deny them their identity, and sever their relations with Palestinians in the occupied territories. They vote in the Israeli elections, and expect about 19 seats in the 120-member Parliament in the current elections.
Nonetheless, they do not enjoy the same rights as the Israeli citizens. There are over 100 laws that discriminate against these Palestinian citizens in Israel. The country is codified in law as the national homeland of Jewish people. There is none in the Cabinet, but they have a judge in the Supreme Court. They serve in the army and police but at a deputy commander level at most.
The nearly 5 million Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, and 2.3 million in Gaza do not vote in Israeli elections. But the 1 million Israeli citizens living illegally in the West Bank do vote in the elections.
Historically, the Palestinian/ Arab parties in Israel stay out of Government. With 19 seats, and a tie in the two major coalitions, they will be the kingmakers if they opt to join the Jewish coalitions which in the campaigns have made it clear they would not want to form a coalition with Arab because of their conditions. In the above clip, Netanyahu rules out a coalition with them. But will the Arab Palestinians want to join his Government anyway?

While pregnant with Abdullah, his mother inhaled smoke and gas from illegal white phosphorus munitions deployed by the military occupation against Gaza. White phosphorus can cause devastating injuries, and its use over densely populated civilian areas is unlawful.

Today, little Abdullah lives with severe hydrocephalus, a condition that causes fluid to accumulate in his brain, resulting in extreme enlargement of his skull. His mother fears what the exposure may have done.
Abdullah weighs over 15 kilograms, normal is around 10, with his enlarged head placing an enormous burden on his small body. He has undergone multiple surgeries to insert shunts to drain the fluid, each carrying risks of infection. He also suffers from seizures requiring medication and constant medical monitoring.
At The Sameer Project’s Refaat Alareer Camp, our physiotherapists have helped Abdullah reach milestones once thought impossible, including learning to roll over halfway and move his limbs.
But Abdullah needs advanced medical treatment abroad. He is one of thousands of children waiting for medical evacuation during this genocide. Until that day comes, our team will continue providing his medication, rehabilitation, and daily care.
Support our medical camps by becoming a monthly sponsor in our Refaat Alareer Camp link: chuffed.org/project/113327-r…. Abdullah deserves a future beyond simply surviving.

🇦🇱 Meanwhile in Albania, opposition lawmakers set off red flares and blue smoke bombs in parliament on Thursday, trying to block a vote on a new law governing the country's central bank.
Opposition MPs banged on desks, threw objects at Prime Minister Edi Rama and chanted "Resign, Rama!" They held up photos they said showed police beating protesters, according to Sweden Herald. Albanians have been protesting for over a week over education funding and the cost of living.
The law passed anyway with 84 votes, the bare minimum needed. Rama voted and walked out, and Speaker Niko Peleshi expelled four opposition MPs, according to Albanian outlet Koha Jonë.
It's not the first time this month. On Oct. 9, Rama was pelted with eggs and bottles as parliament passed a municipal reform plan.

🔴 Dozens of sick and wounded Palestinians have died waiting for medical treatment abroad as Israel repeatedly closes crossings and delays evacuations from Gaza, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Thursday. More than 21,000 patients remain stranded.
➤ The ministry reported that 21,468 patients remain on waiting lists, including 6,430 priority cases, while just 3,056 have been evacuated since February when Israel began allowing some patients to leave Gaza. 2,614 have left through Rafah and 442 through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
➤ The ministry said Israel is deliberately slowing evacuation procedures and repeatedly closing crossings, causing severe deterioration in the health of thousands of patients and leaving dozens to die while awaiting permission to leave.
➤ It called for the immediate reopening of Rafah for medical evacuations, the removal of administrative restrictions and a substantial increase in the number of patients permitted to leave each day.
🇵🇸 Mohammed has been waiting for more than a year for medical evacuation from Gaza despite being approved for treatment abroad, after being shot and paralyzed by Israeli forces while trying to access aid. He urgently needs reconstructive urological surgery, and is losing hope, according to a video report shared by his caregivers.
He is one of about 21,000 patients awaiting treatment abroad, including 5,600 children, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. More than 2,000 have died waiting since October 2023.
Israel blocked medical evacuations for nearly three weeks this month before letting 50 patients out on Oct. 19 and 20. Even before that closure, the ministry says, Israel allowed out about 12 patients a day, a quarter of the 50 a day agreed under the ceasefire.
President Trump's Gaza plan, now overseen by his Board of Peace, promised that Palestinians who wish to leave Gaza would be "free to do so and free to return." It remains stalled as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refuses to act and ratchets up the cruelty before Tuesday's election.

While much of the world watches the Israeli election results, counts seats, follows political alliances, and wonders what comes next, life in Gaza tells a very different story.
This little girl arrived at Al-Rahma Clinic with painful burns on parts of her tiny body.
She knows nothing of elections, political alliances, or politicians’ speeches.
All she knows is that she is in pain.
The world has moved from war to ceasefire, from ceasefire to elections, and from one headline to the next. But Gaza’s suffering has not followed the news cycle.
The bombs may be falling less frequently, and politicians may now be busy counting votes. But children are still living among the ruins, bearing wounds, mourning loved ones, and enduring the consequences of a war that has taken almost everything from them.
And as the world slowly grows accustomed to their suffering, there is something I fear almost as much as the suffering itself: that one day, we will look at a photograph like this and feel nothing.
Look at this little girl. This is what a “ceasefire” looks like for her.
The world may have moved on from Gaza. But Gaza’s children have not been given the chance to move on from what the world allowed to happen to them.
