i never really thought a jobs report could have much to do with gold.
but this week, a report from ADP showed that private companies in the US hired more people in october, even though some industries were still cutting jobs.
gold was also making news as the US dollar weakened and government borrowing rates fell.
so i opened GOLD/USD on @DecibelTrade to see what was happening.
the chart shows gold dropping below $3,900, recovering above $4,100, then pulling back toward $4,045.
the platform also showed a 2.33% drop over 24 hours.
i find it interesting how something as ordinary as people getting hired can be connected to a market like gold.
selling fewer PlayStations doesn't always mean Sony's gaming business is making less money.
sony just released its Q2 earnings, and the numbers tell an interesting story.
its gaming and network business made ¥1.21 trillion, up 9% from last year.
profit also rose 83% to ¥220.1 billion, partly because of losses recorded last year.
console sales declined, but games and online services helped the business grow.
i checked SONY/USD on @DecibelTrade to see how the price was moving.
the chart shows it climbing from around $25 to nearly $28 before pulling back toward $26.86.
seems selling consoles is only one part of the PlayStation story.
