Everyone is all pro ‘mental health’, until you actual live it and discover that a psychiatric diagnosis, however benign, will mean you are stripped of any credibility and will never be treated like a human being again in your healthcare.

Narcs figure out your weak spot is invalidation, prod it over and over again to produce a response, then sit back and watch their work. They’ll get other people to prod it too, usually under a narrative of ‘concern’. The tapestry of their lie is built over years. Everywhere you run is a glass cage. The people looking at you piteously, turning away, or expressing empathy for the abuser. I learnt the hard way that they don’t actually believe what they’re saying. They’re not pursuing fact, they’re pursuing narrative control. There is only one correct response: silence and exit.

Has anyone hacked how to make money from a laptop in bed on your own hours (other than that obvious one)

And no one does believe you.
Being poor and marginalised or “different” makes you a target of abuse by malignant, abusive people, because they figure no one will believe you. In addition, your accessibility to society is restricted, your voice, silenced.!

If someone looks calm and the other one looks ‘insane’, it’s usually the calm one who is at fault. Ask yourself what they did or are doing behind the scenes.

When someone dies by suicide: "Why didn't they talk to someone?" "What were they thinking? But when someone tries to open up: "You're overreacting." "You'll be fine." "You're too sensitive." "That's life get on with it."

Absolutely anything can be reframed and the way psych does it solidifies the assertion that it is primarily carceral, not care. It serves institutions and people of power, not the individual. In many cases the systems and people it serves are very ones that harmed the individual in the first place. Forcing people’s experiences of themselves, their relationships, and the world into a pathologised institutional box is by its very definition dehumanising and epistemically violent. It feels violating because it is. Then they can pathologise the response of feeling violated too. Humanity is stripped, over and over again. A Russian doll of degradation. For an industry that declares people delusional, it has very little grounding in reality itself, and simultaneously seems unable to recognise this. Or if it does, it is wilful blindness in service of power. #antipsych
It’s getting harder and harder to take anything mental health professionals say at face value when the whole culture feels so toxic it starts reminding you of a traumatic upbringing. Sessions turn manipulative fast, select words to misdirect, asking direct questions about trust hoping to pathologise the answer, and the basic wish to just get discharged with liberty restored, is met with framed concern. When acting like wanting respect for who you are and what you’ve achieved is somehow a symptom is met with surprise, you really do question agendas. Having faith that professional standards are the main principle results in confusion as to why power corrupts in the way it does. The disorientation this causes is real; you’re trapped listening to words you can’t trust while everything about the place works against basic dignity, while being simultaneously created to heal. The paradox of wellness combined with severe illness is quite the argument against the reliability of psychiatry. It’s madness.

I feel like chronic illness can induce a kind of PTSD. You’re not alone. It’s a natural response. I try to remind myself it’s a remitting relapsing condition- a little spark may return to you tomorrow or the next day, or next week. When it does, notice and celebrate. ❤️

That's how control and abuse work. You change the definition, re-write someone's else story, so now every attempt they make at defending themselves is used as further proof of their own guilt. It's exactly same as narcissistic abuse, and it works with religion and politics too.

The defensive narratives continue with doctors now suggesting my infiltrating abdominal disease, foreign body giant cells, chronic inflammatory cells, antibiotic-responsive pain, and rising streptococcal serology could be a pain syndrome 🙃 This is not healthcare. It’s a hand holding you towards death.

Mental health professionals who work with youth have both the ability and the incentive to engage in epistemic violence, that is, re-categorizing how they’ve destroyed the nervous system of the youth as an underlying biological defect.

To be disabled is almost always to be traumatized. It’s living in a body that can’t keep you safe. It’s doctors dismissing you. It’s family and friends abandoning you. It’s living in a society that doesn’t see your value. It’s constantly having to prove your life is worth living.

Australian Mental Health Services Prisons by another name. Predators paradise. Woman referred to MHS after telling family and police she’d experienced DV and cyberstalking - involuntarily admitted to acute MHU. "Experienced extreme trauma while incarcerated in the psychiatric ward". Male staff asking female pt going for a shower “Would you like me to help you take off your bra”? 1 woman sleeping on a mattress in a communal living room due to lack of beds. Patients not believed when they raised complaints. “They doubt people and don't view them as credible because of their diagnosis”. Multiple sexual harassment/ misconduct/assault complaints across QLD MHUs. Govt response - 🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗 #Incarceration #Abuse abc.net.au/news/2026-10-07/f…

they should invent a medical system that doesn’t consistently leave you a sobbing traumatized mess after so much as a simple fucking phone call with a receptionist

I don’t think people realize how insulting it is to constantly offer unsolicited medical advice to someone who’s spent years trying to get their chronic illness under control. You really think they haven’t tried the obvious things?

Everyone who actually spends time with me- friends, nurses, NAs, college staff, university staff, people at the gym has never once suggested I am mentally ill. Only clinicians do. No one else sees illness except the people whose roles require the narrative to exist. The only ones who accept that narrative are those close to the clinicians, or tribunals of judges and specialists bound by professional duty and possibly prior loyalty to the service. In my case, that pattern is unusual.

Would love to know because this happened to me. Worked bloody hard at my mental health my whole life, finally hacked it and realised my mental illness was my abuser, walked away with the help of somatic therapy, was doing much better, then BOOM, post-surgical complications, severe medical PTSD, loss of independence, vulnerable to the abuser again.
hey whats it called when you break out of your depression and start becoming a better person and then something happens that retraumatizes you all over again and your mental health takes a nose dive and you end up right where you started

Mental health care is inherently coercive, because the claims are unfalsifiable. If something about you threatens a system, model of thinking, or individual practitioner’s sense of superiority, they can have you defamed and locked up.
Gaslighting - a common tactic used in healthcare, prevalent in mental health practice. Used against both patients and whistleblowers. Denying a reality or distorting a truth to make a person doubt their own perception, memory, or sanity. Also used to discredit them or convince others they are crazy.

Me: “The pain is 9/10 off antibiotics [my 10 is loss of consciousness]. I was spending my days bent over a cushion crying on all fours.” Dr in letter: “She has been troubled lately by some pelvic discomfort.” Bro.
