I know people are probably over this conversation, but looking back at my childhood, even if I had felt traumatized by my mom having a life outside of us which I didn’t, she spent a lot of of my childhood being a stay at home mom

Does that make sense? I liked being by myself. I liked it when my parents weren’t home and I could be by myself at home and when I was with my parents, I wanted a specific type of affection that they weren’t able to give at the time so it wouldn’t have even mattered just thinking

In any case, I was not traumatized by my parents having a life outside of us, in fact, I was delighted when I could be home alone and watch gay movie trailers on old YouTube and look for gay web Comics as a teen and when I was really little, it was reading my fantasy books alone

People don't understand how much VH1 contributed to cultural literacy. Yeah you were high on the couch watching hours of Pop Up video & I Love The (pick a decade) but you were also getting an education in cultural history. We could use more of that, now, & less tik tok slop.
"Pop-Up Video" debuted on VH1 on this date in 1996, adding a whole new layer to watching music videos. BITE-SIZED FACT | The show filled music videos with pop-up bubbles revealing trivia, behind-the-scenes stories and amusing facts about the artists and songs.

Boy, I need to read this
This is the most painfully accurate book I have ever read. HOW DID IT TELEPORT INTO MY BRAIN AND SEE EVERYTHING GOING ON INSIDE. I’m only on chapter 4 and this book has broken me already (in the way that I really really need right now)

There's a lot of gay ppl doing culture commentary now who do not know cultural references beyond the ones that have been memes on the internet. In previous generations being gay in that space was all about being a nerd about cultural minutiae of the past. That was the foundation
this level of queening out is becoming an increasingly lost art. jake shane my brother, class needed to start YESTERDAY.

Oh for sure. If there’s one thing motherhood frees you from it’s the tedium of unfulfilling social rituals. Anyway, I’m at my 70th little league game of the year and it’s only October…
You guys realize that one of the greatest joys of motherhood is never again having to do any of the tedious and unfulfilling social rituals you were forced to do so you could increase your odds of finding a man who wanted to have kids with you

Yeah let’s just cede all the cities to the wealthy and orbit them in depressed little exurbs. Maybe once in a while they’ll deign to let us come in and go to a museum or a show or at least stand outside the buildings and try to absorb some culture through osmosis

My name is Maria. I am a survivor of the genocide in Gaza, and this is my little daughter, Ruh. ❤️‍🩹 We survived things no human being should ever have to experience. I lived through war, fear, hunger, loss, and unimaginable pain. I carried my baby through this nightmare, gave birth under terrible circumstances, and fought to keep her alive. Today, Ruh is here in my arms, and she is my greatest reason to keep going. But surviving the genocide does not mean our suffering is over. We are still living in a fragile tent in Gaza, struggling every single day to find food, clean water, milk, diapers, and the most basic necessities for my daughter. As winter approaches, I am terrified of the rain, the flooding, the cold, and what another night in this tent could mean for my little girl. I am a mother who dreams of giving her child a safe place to sleep, warm clothes to wear, enough food to eat, and a childhood free from fear. I never imagined that I would have to ask strangers around the world for help just to meet my baby’s basic needs. I don’t want to be known only as a victim. I want to survive, rebuild my life, and give Ruh the future she deserves. But right now, we cannot do this alone. If you have ever wondered how you can help a family in Gaza, please think of me and my little daughter. A donation, a repost, or even sharing our story with one more person could help us get through another difficult day. Please don’t let our voices disappear. We survived the unimaginable, and we are still fighting to live. From my heart, I am asking you: please help me protect my little girl. She deserves warmth, safety, and a chance to grow up in peace. So does every child. 🕊️ 🔗 Please support our fundraiser and share our story: chuffed.org/project/196971-s… Thank you to everyone who sees us, hears us, and refuses to forget us. ❤️🇵🇸

My cat ran away and was gone for days, but luckily the building cleaner managed to catch him for me.
