Former AZ Senator Jon Kyl passed away last night.
Statement from the family:
"Our husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, Jon Kyl, has passed away at the age of 84 due to complications from a neurological disease.
We know that Jon belonged to all of Arizona, a state he loved and explored with vigor, curiosity, and wonder. Serving his state and nation in Congress was a privilege and responsibility he honored and respected. We are grateful for his full and meaningful public life.
We are grateful, too, for his full and meaningful family life, guided by his faith and endowed with honor, warmth, and love. We cherish his presence in our lives and are thankful he has joined his beloved Creator, Jesus Christ.

Yesterday, we lost a cherished member of our family.
We got Sunny at the start of our second term in the White House, and all of us – including our first dog, Bo – immediately fell in love. We also had trouble keeping up with her, for Sunny was a force of nature. Athletic and full of boundless energy, she leapt over the hedges on the South Lawn like they weren’t even there, chasing squirrels, birds and anything else that moved. And whereas the way to Bo’s heart usually involved a treat, Sunny was more interested in having us run around with her, roll on the floor with her, or have her belly rubbed for as long as we were willing.
She loved the girls, even if they were pestering her when she was napping. She loved our team, and would often follow them around, helping them on the job. She was fiercely protective of Bo, who she rightly sensed wasn’t always as alert and attentive as she was. She had her eccentricities: other than Bo, she preferred people to dogs; she was a loud and sloppy drinker; and despite being a Portuguese Water Dog, she hated getting wet.
But as far as our family was concerned, she was pretty much perfect, and for thirteen years, she would be by our side – always loyal, always sweet, always ready for adventure, still fiery and gorgeous till the very end of her days.
We will miss her terribly, and imagine she’s with her big brother now, making sure he’s okay.

I still think often about those American heroes who stormed the cockpit on Flight 93. They had full knowledge of what had already occurred and correctly surmised that their plane was headed for a major target in Washington, D.C. They fought their way forward against all odds and attempted to force the barricaded cockpit. From the fragmented communications and cockpit recordings, we know they breached the door and fought hand-to-hand with the terrorists for control of the aircraft.
Their selfless sacrifice saved countless lives on the ground that day and prevented an already horrific tragedy from growing even darker. The potential destruction of either the White House or the U.S. Capitol was prevented by a final stand that will forever be remembered in American history as one of the bravest acts ever undertaken by a group of ordinary citizens.

Hello everyone,
I wished to stay quiet to avoid spreading my friend’s personal information, but the situation has spiraled completely out of control to the point where it necessitates a discussion
Today one of my closest friends not just in Twitter but in life, @BeshearStan was doxxed today after tweeting “happy kirkaversary everyone” and doubling down on it.
I do not support the notion that Charlie Kirk deserved to have been killed and I highly stress that I do not support ANY form of political violence. This is one of the first times I have openly discussed this but not only am I a devout Christian, I practiced in secret for many years and any form of malicious violence are completely against not just my religion, but who I am as a person.
What has been done to my friend @BeshearStan has been simply appalling and disgusting. I would like to be clear that as a result of this situation, he has had a false police report made about him where someone accused him of possessing child pornography and an additional false police report made about him accusing him of possessing an AR-15 and being a threat to public safety. Additionally, he has had three pizza boxes sent to his residence as an intimidation tactic.
While no one should EVER endorse violence, what has been said today by people who claim to merely be against the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk completely goes beyond the pale. I have seen multiple tweets calling @BeshearStan “subhuman” among many other racially charged, hateful tweets, and even someone threatening to drive to his city to murder him. If you have made statements like this out of a desire to end political violence, you are only serving to radicalize others and defeat your own interests.
I realize that this likely puts a target on my own back, but I am simply tweeting this in hopes that the people waging this war of harassment on @BeshearStan realize how hypocritical and counterproductive they are being.
