Last year, they deemed that club football wasn’t enough, and that European success was needed to win.
This year, they deemed that European football was not needed, in fact, PSG was not included in the top 5. They decided that club football was enough to win it. Which means with this criteria, Mohamed Salah’s 24/25 season was worthy of a Ballon D’or.
It’s a shame, but the truth is the journalists and voters never wanted Mohamed Salah to win this award in the first place.
