Russia must face real consequences for every attack against Ukrainian civilians. Condemnations alone will not stop Russian missiles. Stronger sanctions, increased military assistance, and sustained international pressure are urgently needed.
The aggressor must understand that every new act of terror will come at an even higher price.
Grateful to you, dear @MargusTsahkna, for your strong voice and Estonia’s steadfast solidarity with Ukraine.
While the world talks about peace, Russian ballistic missiles again strike Kyiv.
Russia answers peace efforts with more terror and destruction because it believes it can act with impunity. Only massive pressure will force Russia to stop.

This morning, the Russians attacked Komyshuvakha with an FPV drone, where emergency rescue operations have been underway for seven days following an aerial bomb strike that killed 55 people. Unfortunately, more people may still be under the rubble. Absolute cynicism and brutality. There was also an overnight attack on the Dnipro region – the Russians struck energy infrastructure, leaving more than 600,000 people in Dnipro and the region without power. In the Kharkiv region, the situation is difficult too. There are widespread power outages across the country. In the Zhytomyr region alone, 140 apartment buildings were left without heating following a Russian strike. Repair work is underway in virtually every affected city and community. I thank the energy workers, utility workers, and every repair crew who are literally working 24/7 to restore water, electricity, and heating supplies to people.
In total, this past week alone, Russia has launched 115 missiles of various types, nearly 1,900 guided aerial bombs, and more than 3,000 attack drones against our cities and communities. These are combined strikes involving many ballistic missiles. And a significant portion of the missiles were manufactured this year. We constantly provide our partners with information about Russian enterprises involved in ballistic missile production. In October, Ukraine imposed major sanctions packages on the individuals and legal entities involved. It is very important that they be synchronized across Europe and G7 jurisdictions. If the world does not have enough anti-ballistic capabilities to protect Ukrainian skies, then the missiles must be stopped on the production lines. We count on a strong 22nd EU sanctions package. Thank you to all partners who are truly helping.

When Putin seized Crimea, both Europe and America were quite openly making calls, holding meetings, and sending signals to the Ukrainians who were in power at the time that there should be no escalation – let's just keep things friendly and leave things as they are for now. And we lost Crimea. After that, we lost part of Donbas. But the shooting in the east continued. There was no peace.
People think we were always helped. That is not true. Help started coming after the full-scale invasion, but that was after eight years of Russia occupying our territory. That is a long time to figure things out and understand that Putin has no intention of giving anything back to us.
At one point, some Europeans asked me: “Why do you think that if you withdraw from Donbas, he will go further?” And I answered: “Because at the beginning of the war, he wasn't seizing Donbas. He came to the capital. He seized parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, Kherson itself, and Kharkiv region.” We have retaken a lot of territory, but he had seized different parts of our country. And now they want us to give them something because they are unable to seize it. We may have a smaller territory, less money, and fewer weapons, but we still have more dignity than many others. We will do everything we can to end this war, but it must end in a way that preserves our dignity.

In Kyiv, a 73yo woman suffered cardiac arrest on the 15th floor of an apartment building. The elevator wasn't working bc of a power outage.
Paramedics climbed 15 floors on foot, carrying heavy resuscitation equipment. They fought to save her life for 20min. Her heart started beating again! Rescue workers then helped carry her downstairs.
Ordinary people doing miracles.

The escalation of Russian attacks in Ukraine brings a devastating human toll measured in shattered lives. I strongly condemn the latest attack on Komyshuvakha, which killed at least 43 people, with many more still missing.
With a harsh winter looming and millions already lacking heating, water, and housing in Ukraine, Council of Europe member states must sustain solidarity, step up urgent assistance, support displaced people and accelerate accountability mechanisms.
We cannot allow the suffering of civilians to become normalised.

Meanwhile, Putin chose a moment when he believed the world’s attention was focused elsewhere to unleash at least nine bombs on a school in Ukraine, where civilians had sought shelter. This wasn’t just an attack. It was an atrocity. The world must not look away, and those responsible must be held accountable.

Whatever the #Election2026 results, this by @IsabellaMWeber will be just as important tmr. One theme close to my heart is that unemployment, precarious work, econ insecurity make fascism possible. Ending them + putting essentials under public control is step#1 to reversing course

Search and rescue operations have now been underway for three days at the site of the Russian strike on a school in the settlement of Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region. The Russians used nine aerial bombs. They first struck people who had come to receive humanitarian aid, and then first responders and police officers who arrived at the scene.
All necessary services are involved. It is an extremely difficult operation, very challenging, and it is being carried out under virtually constant threat of new Russian strikes. As of now, 40 people have been reported killed. Unfortunately, some bodies have not yet been identified. My condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed. More than 30 people may still be under the rubble.
Unfortunately, there has been very little reaction from the world to this insane attack. But it, like thousands upon thousands of other war crimes Russia has committed against Ukraine and Ukrainians, demands a strong response. Evil always goes further if it is left unanswered. We count on a response – Ukraine needs air defense support right now. I am grateful to the partners who are taking such steps.

I thank Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Norway and Sweden, and their national hockey federations, for publicly refusing to share the ice with Russia.
I urge all others, especially the great hockey nations, to follow suit. If CAS lacks a moral compass, let's show that hockey still has values. Refuse to play against Russia and deny visas to its players.
Keep Russia off the ice! A war of aggression and hockey are incompatible.
Special thanks to my Latvian colleague @Braze_Baiba for her leadership.

This is the Russian method of modern ethnic cleansing:
Russian aerial bombs strike every village, killing everyone in their path;
for nearly five years, Russians have been wiping out Ukrainian villages one by one.
It is the ethnic cleansing of the century— the world allow it
