Reuniting organizations and people with their unclaimed property is one of my favorite parts of my job. Stop by our booth at the NC State Fair and see if we have any funds for you!

“It’s a Trojan horse. It rolls in; it looks great. It burns down everything,” said @ArdisWatkins.
Watkins argues that while members could save money at the time of care, the State Health Plan would still pay Atrium’s higher reimbursement rates, potentially driving up overall spending.
“They would pay much more later when their premiums and everybody else in the state’s premiums have to get jacked up, because Atrium would continue sending enormous bills to the health plan,” Watkins said. #ncpol #ncga

Always great to get to Johnston County to support my friend @benton_sawrey #ncpol
Briner: One of my duties is to keep the State Health Plan financially solvent… as an incentive for teachers, state employees. I will not let one hospital system destroy the plan, raise premiums on every teacher and state employee and send us into overwhelming debt. #ncpol #ncga

More on the decision here. Briner says as long as Atrium keeps to its plan to match costs for state employees to avoid them leaving for a competitor, then individual state workers shouldn't be afffected.
But that's a big if. Still no response from Atrium. wral.com/news/nccapitol/atri…

Atrium wants to continue to charge the State Health Plan current high rates. Every member, including those using Atrium, will pay these higher rates through premium increases and decreased benefits. Copays are a fraction of bill. Taxpayers will be on the hook too. #ncpol #ncga
📢 NC State Health Plan Open Enrollment is extended through Nov. 6, 2026.
Members have more time to review 2027 options amid confusion over Atrium Health's new program. The Plan has taken legal action, citing concerns about costs. bit.ly/4AX5WQ5 #ncpol #shpnc
If @AtriumHealth wants to make state employees whole, there's a simple way to do it: lower its prices to the State Health Plan.
That's what every other system in the preferred tiers agreed to do. #ncga #ncpol

Everyone loves a lower copay, but that’s only a tiny part of the bill. Atrium’s high rates are billed to NC taxpayers and pull budget $ from public education, public safety, etc. Higher bills to the state lead to higher premiums, reduced benefits for state employees. #ncga #ncpol
Atrium’s new “program” for State Health Plan members is a shell game: it shifts agreed-upon costs to the Plan and, ultimately, North Carolina taxpayers. #ncpol

Atrium’s plan would shift their high rates onto all North Carolina taxpayers at the tune of multiple hundreds of millions of dollars. This could bankrupt the State Health Plan. #NCPOL #NCGA

Today, I reintroduced the Disaster Recovery and Resilience Act, legislation that would implement comprehensive regulatory reform designed to aid areas impacted by natural disasters.
This legislation ensures that North Carolinians will never again have to bear the brunt of exhaustive, crippling red tape and regulatory burdens to simply rebuild what is ours.
